🚨The Western Canadian Powerlifting Championships are coming to Nanaimo next week, and we’re short on spotters/loaders for sessions on Thursday and Friday.🚨

We’ll train you, feed you, caffeinate you, and kit you out with a shirt + goodies. You get a front row seat to cheer on your friends, access to the event all weekend, and a good nights sleep knowing you enabled 28 people to compete that day.

All we ask is that you’re comfortable loading a 25kg plate onto a barbell. Most of the sessions we need help for probably won’t go over 2/3 reds per side.

Max says don’t miss weight or you won’t get a medal (because you won’t be lifting) 🐶💬

If your scale is giving you anxiety and you’re starting to panic that you might not make weight, EMAIL US TODAY/TOMORROW to change your weight class.
And if you’re going to risk it anyway (I know some of you will) make sure you pack plenty of electrolytes and carbs… and be prepared to lower your openers… speaking from painful experience.

❗️Youth lifters, Special Olympics and Para Powerlifters are exempt from the 21 day weight class change rule❗️

As many of you have been asking, we can share that the competition racks at Westerns will be MET-XT.

We will be selling ONE of these racks that you can take home from the meet (Sunday afternoon) and save on tax and shipping costs. DM us to reserve your new rack!

It’s time to hard launch the volunteer signup!
We’ve had 25 people sign up already, but there’s still 283 spots available!

If you’re coming to compete or support, please consider giving one session of your time to enable everyone else to compete. As this is the biggest Westerns ever, we need as much help as possible 🥹

All volunteers will be fed well (hopefully - we still have to talk to the chef), and will receive a volunteer gift bag and a comp t shirt.

The referee schedule for Westerns is coming together but with so many athletes and sessions we need a few more bums in seats! 🧑‍⚖️

If you’re a national referee who’s coming to Westerns or was on the fence, please reach out to Shantelle ASAP so we can get the schedule finalized and everyone can book travel and accommodations (we’d like to avoid flying in people from central&eastern Canada if we can avoid it)
