Used cooking oil may seem harmless, but it can create real problems when it is poured down the sink. It can build up in pipes, contribute to blockages, and create avoidable issues in the wastewater system.

Roseridge accepts cooking oils year-round at the Roseridge Waste Management Center.

Pour it into a sealed container, store it safely, and bring it to the Special Products Building.

We’ll take it from there.

From green cart to garden.

Area residents can pick up free Re-Source Category A Premium compost from Roseridge’s Community Resource Zone. Bring your own pail or container, and use the shovels provided on site.

Our compost is made from the organics collected through regional green cart programs and processed at Roseridge. When the right materials go into the green cart, they help create a finished compost that can go back into local gardens and landscapes.

The compost area is located just inside our gate and before the scales.

Firewood is one of the materials available through Roseridge’s Community Resource Zone.

Area residents can take or leave firewood in the marked area just inside our gate and before the scales. Availability will depend on what has been dropped off, but when usable wood is there, residents are welcome to take some.

It is a simple idea: useful material should stay useful.

The Community Resource Zone helps turn waste into a resource by giving residents a place to share materials that still have value.

If it doesn’t grow, it doesn’t go. That is our compost awareness message this spring.

A clean cart supports better compost. A contaminated cart creates problems all the way through the process, and in some cases can send loads to landfill.

Not everything brought to Roseridge needs to become waste.

Our Community Resource Zone gives usable materials a second purpose. Area residents can take or leave field stones and pallets in the marked area just inside our gate and before the scales.

Need stones for a yard project? Looking for a few pallets? Have usable ones to leave for someone else?

That is exactly what this area is for.

The Community Resource Zone is a simple way to keep useful materials in use and out of the waste stream.
