Happy Monday! After a stressful weekend of flooding I am here to let you know the water receded yesterday. We only had a small sewer issue, which will keep you all entertained for months to come, and our sump pump was repaired by our super hero friend, with a big truck, who got to us by driving through 3 feet of water. I want to give a heartfelt thanks to our supportive community who checked in on us, offered lodging and showers, kind words, prayers and thoughts. Your kindness and thoughtfulness were the gifts that kept us going. We knew we were loved, which is the most valuable gift.

There is still a temporary road to the salon, and it will likely be your only route to the salon for months to come. You will receive directions before your appointments.

Good evening Orange Creeksiders. With all of the welcome, but can stop anytime, rain and snow we’ve had, the Bridge on Alvey Street has collapsed in the centre. This is the only way in or out of our neighbourhood. The city is working on creating an alternative path behind Sawatzky’s, and through the bush onto our street. I will send out instructions for you well before your appointments, as I think this will be a long term solution while they fix the Alvey bridge. If you must park at Sawatzky’s, and walk over, consider wearing footwear that is water proof as there is a lot of water and slush on the street. Big sigh, big breath, and this too shall pass.
