What an absolute honor to create the awards for the first ever Moose Jaw Film Festival.

I walked in not knowing what to expect.

I walked out completely blown away.

For a first-year festival, the organization and ex*****on were next level. But the real shock? The talent.

The films showcased heart, technical precision, and artistry that rival major studio productions — created on shoestring budgets through grit, collaboration, and pure hunger.

This isn’t just a group of filmmakers. It’s a community. They act in each other’s projects. Share skills. Share gear. Push each other to be better.
If the public truly discovers the level of quality coming out of this group, next year won’t just grow — it’ll explode.

Moose Jaw is building something special. 🎬

Last night, Welcome to Kittytown won two awards at the Moose Jaw Film Festival: Best Writers (Robert Bryn Mann and Darren Zimmer) and Best Feature Film.

Our movie has been fortunate enough to win awards from around the world, but winning at home…just feels different.

Congratulations to all the nominees and winners. Looking around the packed theatre last night, you could see a room full of scrappy filmmakers creating incredible films.

Congratulations to everyone involved with the Moose Jaw Film Festival. It was truly an incredible event, and we can’t wait to see what MJFF 2027 brings. Shoutout to Schneider Graphic Design for creating these super cool awards.

Thank you to Jeff and Fab at Prowler Pictures for stepping in when this film needed it most and helping bring it across the finish line.
