Bryan Adams releases How's It Goin' on 6 November, twelve songs about Canada plus a digital bonus track.

It began as a commission for the documentary Canada's Wild Eastern Edge and grew into a record covering the War of 1812, the railway, and Terry Fox.

The Ballad of Terry Fox will also feature in the documentary Run Terry Run.

Bryan Adams will release How’s It Goin’ on 6 November through BAD Records, a thirteen-track album written entirely about Canada. It started with a commission. Adams wrote a song for the documentary Canada’s Wild Eastern Edge, and the research sent him somewhere he had not planned to go. “The...

An instrument-free singalong, three drummers at once and G Flip riding through the crowd on a fan’s shoulders. This was not a quiet night at Le Studio TD.

Vienna Vienna opened with smooth vocals, punk energy and an unexpected version of God Save the Queens after technical problems took the instruments out of the equation.

G Flip followed with the kind of joyful, multi-instrumental performance that had couples dancing and strangers looking after each other.

Ashtyn Turner reviews a night of glitter, rainbows, q***r joy and one last-minute dash to the bank for merch.

As soon as G Flip announced that they would be playing Montreal, I knew I’d want to cover it for the audience vibes alone. Imagine my surprise and delight when Vienna Vienna was invited to open the show! Just as I keep track of who Louis Tomlinson signs, I pay even closer attention to who […]

Arlo Parks brought the Desire Tour to MTELUS, with Baird opening the night.

Moving between quiet intimacy and the dancefloor pulse of Ambiguous Desire, Parks showed how vulnerability and movement can exist in the same space.

Personal, poetic and increasingly restless, it was a new chapter brought vividly to life on stage.

Arlo Parks is in a better place. With her Desire tour, the 25-year-old Mercury Prize winner brought vulnerability and euphoria to the dancefloor. The dancefloor has long played a larger role in conversations around mental health, with contemporary artists like Fred Again openly cultivating its poten...

“Scream for me, Quebecois!”

Around 40,000 metal fans answered Bruce Dickinson’s call as Iron Maiden brought more than two hours of heavy metal theatre to Parc Jean-Drapeau.

With Anthrax opening the night and Megadeth potentially making their final Montreal appearance, the evening mixed thrash classics, towering Eddie appearances, duelling guitars and a few vocal struggles from Dickinson.

Even on an off night, the crowd was there to sing every difficult note with him.

Mathieu Perrier reviews a night that turned Montreal into a city of Maiden tees, battle vests and heavy metal energy.

Scream for me Quebecois!! 40,000 people happily obliged to Bruce Dickinson’s commands, as the five other men on stage who make up Iron Maiden gave a performance worth remembering at their recent tour stop in Montreal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau. The hours leading up to the heavy metal titans’ triumpha...

Vans Warped Tour returned to Montreal for the first time in 12 years, bringing two days, five stages and more than 80 bands to Parc Jean-Drapeau.

Our reviewers Mathieu Perrier and Maxime Le Huidoux took different routes through the weekend, catching everything from A Day To Remember, 3OH!3 and Counterparts to Yellowcard, Jimmy Eat World and hometown closers Simple Plan.

Two reviewers. Two very different schedules. One weekend full of borrowed gear, crowd surfers, cat stickers and the reminder that Warped Tour has always been about more than the bands.

Jack Harlow brought the Monica tour to MTELUS, trading straight-up rap for soft basslines, brushed drums, trumpets and a full live band.

The pivot works. The show, not always.

The quieter moments gave the songs room to breathe, while a rapid-fire run through 32 tracks sometimes felt like two different shows competing for the same stage.

Wednesday night I watched a man in a beanie sing jazz-inflected R&B with two backing vocalists and a seven-piece band. This weekend I’m at Vans Warped Tour. I put that up front so you know exactly what kind of ears were in the room. My history with Jack Harlow is everyone’s history with Jack Har...
