The team competes in various events all over Canada and the US as part of the Baja SAE divison of SAE International's Collegiate Design Series.

Every year, the McGill Baja Racing Team builds a new single-seat off-road vehicle and brings it across North America to compete with other universities from around the world. McGill Baja Racing is a team of university students working together to design, build, and race a single-seat off-road vehicle capable of conquering all types of terrain. For the 2024-2025 season, McGill Baja Racing attended the following events:

Join us this Thursday for an FEA 101 workshop! We’ll go over the basics of Finite Element Analysis and show you how to use it for simulations and structural analysis on the team. No prior experience needed!

Baja SAE Ohio 2026, what an amazing competition!

We’re incredibly proud to have achieved some of our best results in the last few years, finishing P21 in endurance, after a CVT swap mid-race, P16 in S&T, and P19 in sled pull.

After spending the entire summer working hard to improve the car following our first competition, it was incredibly rewarding to see that work pay off. The car proved much more reliable throughout the week, allowing us to pass brake check early, compete in every dynamic event, and get plenty of time on the practice track.

Beyond the results, it was an unforgettable week spent working hard on the car, supporting each other, and creating long-lasting memories with an amazing group of passionate team members.

This competition marks the end of our McGill Baja 2026 season. We’re incredibly proud of everything we accomplished this year and already can’t wait to start building our next car. Onto the next one! 🚙💜

Registration deadline extended to October 3rd!

With the competition rush, we didn’t get as much time as we wanted to properly introduce everyone to the team, so we’re giving you a few extra days to register!

If you’re still unsure about joining, come by our shop day this Thursday so we can show you around the shop, introduce you to the team, and convince you to join the best off-road design team ever!!

You now have until October 3rd to register, but make sure to fill out the form as soon as possible! The link is in our bio!

Recruitment continues! To keep things simple for all our newest members, we put all the important Fall 2026 dates together in one post.

Note that throughout September, you can come to our general meetings and shop days without registering first!

On September 21st, our General Meeting will be dedicated to our Baja 101 presentation. You’ll be introduced to each of our subsystems and learn all the basics of how our car works. It’s the perfect opportunity to get familiar with the team and understand what goes into designing our car!

And keep an eye out, because there’s plenty more events coming throughout the semester!
