Founded in 1973, as a member of the larger Canadian Home Builders Association (CHBA), the GMHBA membership is comprised of a wide range professionals in the home building industry. The members are committed to upholding the standards of an organization which subscribes to the highest form of professionalism and quality of workmanship in the residential building and renovation industry. The GMHBA’s mission lies in the dual purpose of being of benefit to both its membership by presenting them as credible professionals, and to the homeowner in ensuring the highest level of workmanship in construction and renovation service, and in affordable housing. The GMHBA represents an excellence in the building industry in our region through its mission to “increase the professionalism of the home building, research and renovation industry through its training, education, and research programs while promoting its members’ professionalism through its sales, marketing activities and government liaisons.”
Responsible for keeping its membership current in the latest developments in the housing industry, highlighting challenges and opportunities, as well as trends in the marketplace, the GMHBA offers monthly meetings, newsletters, demos, marketing strategies, and networking opportunities which are all valuable tools in maintaining a network among members and in expanding business horizons. The GMHBA also continues to maintain a rapport with the consumer through the annual Home Show which is sponsored by the GMHBA each spring. Developed in 1989, the Greater Moncton Home Show has proven itself an industry showcase and the perfect forum in which to present goods and services. Its purpose is to inform and educate prospective clients in the latest trends in the marketplace for the mutual benefit to client and business entity alike. A great way to welcome spring each year, this much anticipated show is usually a sold-out event comprised of over 165 exhibitions featuring many long-time participants as well as new and exciting companies anxious to showcase their goods and services to area residents. Not only is the Moncton Home Show a wonderful venue for businesses in the home building industry to exhibit the latest trends in the marketplace, it is also a forum for potential customers to form valuable contacts, and for leaders in the industry to network, interact and form alliances with contractors, developers, and new home builders in the area.
