While Labour Day Weekend is still a few months away, it gives us the perfect opportunity to dig into the history behind this year’s Feature — the evolution of the Oliver Tractor Company!
Beginning in the late 1940s, Oliver Tractors were sold exclusively in Ontario through Goodison Industries of Sarnia, helping establish the brand across farms and rural communities throughout the province.
The following video, content courtesy of Lambton Heritage Museum, showcases a typical dealer brochure introducing the latest Oliver product line to Ontario farmers of the day.
We know there were many Oliver dealers across the province, and chances are there are still old photos, advertisements, brochures, and dealership memorabilia tucked away in collections and family albums.
If you have any pictures, flyers, dealer ads, or other Oliver-related material, send them along! We’d love to create a growing collage of Ontario Oliver history as we build toward Steam Era 2026.
