In the second year of Silver Goose, we started a tradition that probably wasn't noticed much but was important to me. We had an indigenous land acknowledgment and invited first nations from our region to do a drum at the event. Maybe people noticed the absence of the Canadian national anthem, maybe they didn't. But it was purposeful because I was frustrated with North American sports leagues and their lack of acknowledgement of the first people of this land. Playing only colonial anthems to start events. So, when I saw this petition against the name "Dirty Kanza", I signed.
