The Bank Theatre

The Bank Theatre Fully renovated, state of the art, Intimate 211 seat theatre showcasing the performing arts in the heart of beautiful uptown Leamington Ontario!

Music, concerts, comedy, theatrical productions and community events. All are welcome! The Bank Theatre is located at 10 Erie Street south in uptown Leamington Ontario. The building was constructed circa 1850 and prior to ownership by the Sun Parlour Players Community Theatre, it was a Bank of Montreal, hence the name The Bank Theatre. Phase I of the renovations was completed in late August 2012. Phase II of the renovation plan included raising the roof to accommodate an additional 100 seats in state of the art tiered seating and many other structural improvements. Funding for Phase II was provided by the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund and the Municipality of Leamington. The theatre opened it’s doors to the public on August 31, 2012, with a production of Calendar Girls. The quaint 100 seat venue sold out all shows building confidence to all those invested that in completion the main floor with tiered seating for 212 guests would be able to accommodate the interest of our vibrant community. Sun Parlour Players Community Theatre, in its present state, was formed in 1973, but its history goes back to the early 1950’s. Since their inception, SPPCT have run workshops and staged over 100 comedies, musicals, dramas and children’s productions, of which many were written by Canadian authors. The Bank Theatre is a labour of love for many hard working volunteers, a dedicated Board of Directors, committees, and members, and we continue to partner with various organizations in Leamington and throughout Essex County. The passion for top notch live performances, arts and culture events and the drive to revitalize the Municipality of Leamington’s uptown core is shared by the Municipality of Leamington, private, corporate and government funders. Once all interior and exterior improvements are completed, The Bank Theatre will become a vibrant, viable, state of the art facility that is accessible and WIFI ready.

Thank you, thank you so much Leamington and everyone who attended and dug deep! Very, very special thanks to The S'Aints for doing this every year! You are all amazing. The audience - wow 4000+ in attendance and we will get you the final total but last night we were at $15,154.00 which stays in Leamington to feed the hungry!
From a little girl giving us her 35 cents to so many of you giving what you could with every dollar counting, plus a car load of canned goods.
You all rocked Seacliff and crushed last years total!!

Support The Bank Theatre by creating a tile for a community mural celebrating 53 years of history! No art experience is needed, and tile kits are just $35 (no tax!).

Grab your kit today down at the SUNSET® Amphitheatre, every Saturday at Music On the 42 (until Sept 12), or at The Bank Theatre Box Office (10 Erie St S, Leamington | Thursday–Saturday, 11 AM–1 PM).

Be sure to return your completed tile to the theatre no later than October 15, 2026.
