Lansdowne Fair

10/29/2026

As we prepare for our final community events of 2026, we want to take a moment to thank our incredible sponsors for their continued commitment to the Lansdowne Agricultural Society!

Without your support, these events simply wouldn’t happen. With your help, we’re able to bring our community together for two major events — the Black Creek Rodeo and the Lansdowne Fair — along with many smaller community favourites, including our Blueberry Social, Family Fun Day, Halloween celebrations, Christmas Parade, and so much more!

Our sponsors play a huge role in keeping these traditions alive and making Lansdowne a great place to live, work, and gather as a community.

The next time you see one of our sponsors out and about, please take a moment to thank them for all they do to support our community. Every contribution makes a difference, and we are truly grateful for each and every one of you.

Thank you for believing in us, supporting local, and helping us bring our community together!

❤️ Keep it local. Support those who support us!

The details do matter! 🐄 🥛 🤔
Did you know this? Give a 👍 in the comments if you learned something new.

🐄 One size really doesn’t fit all!

Here’s something I never knew was a thing until today! 🤔

My team from Lely came out to the farm today to measure my cows’ teats. Yes, you read that right! We’re measuring cow teats! 😂

Turns out, there’s a lot more to robotic milking than just having a robot attach itself to a cow and do its thing!

Lely uses a special teat-measuring template to measure teat diameters, ranging from 18 to 25 millimetres, and help determine the right milking liner size for each cow.

Why does that matter? The liner sits inside the teat cup, so getting the right fit helps maintain proper vacuum, support good milk flow, and keep the cow comfortable. The wrong fit can affect both milking performance and teat condition. I think there are something like 9 liner size options 🤯

It’s a little detail you probably wouldn’t think about when pouring a glass of milk, but it’s a great reminder of just how much technology and attention to detail goes into modern dairy farming.

We talk a lot about robots, feed, genetics and milk production, but sometimes it’s the smallest details that make a big difference! 🐄❤️

I’ll admit, measuring cow teats wasn’t on my list of things I expected to learn about farming today! 🤣

You really do learn something new every day on a dairy farm!

Hey, what is the secret of measuring a cow’s teat? You can’t measure one without the udder!
