The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony is back on Saturday May 9, closing out their spring season here at St. Matthew’s with The Power of Fate

This one has a really strong mix in the program:

Verdi’s Overture to La forza del destino
A brand new violin concerto by Scott Good (commissioned by KWS)
And Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 to close

It’s led by conductor Earl Lee, with Bénédicte Lauzière featured on violin.

If you’ve never been to a symphony before, this is a good one to start with — a mix of familiar, dramatic music and something completely new.

What stands out most isn’t the big events — it’s groups like this.

A powerful afternoon of choral music at St. Matthews this SATURDAY May 2 @ 3pm!!!

We’re excited to welcome the Rockway Mennonite Collegiate community and visiting choirs from across North America for the Mennonite Schools Network Choral Festival Concert.

This long-standing tradition brings together young voices from multiple schools for one shared performance—and the result is something pretty special.

Featuring choirs from:
• Rockway Mennonite Collegiate (Kitchener)
• UMEI Christian High School
• Schools from Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Iowa

No tickets required—a freewill offering will be collected in support of the festival.

If you’ve never experienced a mass choral performance like this, it’s worth it. There’s something about hearing that many voices come together in one space that just hits differently.

We are starting to get excited because wedding season is just around the corner....

Every ceremony is so personal — not just in the vows, but in the traditions that couples choose to carry forward (or create for themselves).

We’ve seen everything from sand ceremonies and unity candles to cultural rituals, music sung or played by someone special...moments that bring families together.

So we’re curious…

We now have L𝗶𝗻𝗲 D𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 L𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 every Friday!!!

Whether you’re trying it for the first time or already know your way around the floor, there’s a spot for you:
6:00pm — Beginner
7:00pm — Intermediate
7:45pm — Advanced

Led by Rowyn Bella — come join in, move a little, and be part of something new growing in the space.

Drop in rate is $15 per class
