This year's 36th Annual Kingston Women's Art Festival takes place on Sunday August 20th in City Park from 10AM - 5PM

The Women's Art Festival was started in the late 70's by a group of women who were interested in promoting the work of women artists. This outstanding annual one day rain or shine festival has always operated the third Sunday of August.

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS! 💪✨

The Women’s Art Festival is a volunteer run event (yes, even our committee members are volunteers!), and would not be able to thrive without the help of our community!

Get your high school volunteer hours completed, give back to the community, help us help the environment, and connect with a wide network of volunteers and creators 🌺

We need helping hands for:
✅ Set up
✅ Event support
✅ Vendor + visitor assistance
✅ Clean up

It’s a fun, inspiring day with a great group of organizers where we laugh, bond, and have an overall amazing day hanging out together while supporting the art community.

Summer is around the corner, and we are so looking forward to seeing the talented vendors and visitors this August for the Women’s Art Festival 🌞

We are thrilled to share that this year’s Women’s Art Festival graphics are created by artist Abby Nowakowski () !

Abby Nowakowski is a q***r interdisciplinary artist and arts educator based in the wetlands of Central Frontenac between the Mississippi and Tay River watersheds. In their practice, they are constantly questioning how their artwork can be used as an activist tool and contribute to the collective creative building of sustainable futures. Abby explores themes of transformative justice, belonging, and hopefulness. Learning lessons from the natural world, Abby often leans towards local flora and wildlife as powerful examples of community building and resistance.

Thank you Abby for bringing this year’s vision to life! We are excited to share all things merch, which will continue to help support the running of the Women’s Art Festival 🌼

🌻Happy International Women’s Day from the Women’s Art Festival!!! 🌻

We are so excited to share something special with our community. This year, we will be offering a $1,000 grant to one participating artist from this year’s festival. Supporting artists has always been at the heart of what we do, and we’re incredibly happy to be able to take this next step in uplifting and investing in the creative work of women in our community.

Applications and full details about the grant will be available on our website in June 2026. We look forward to learning more about the projects, ideas, and artistic ventures our artists are dreaming up.

If you haven’t yet applied to participate in this year’s festival, there’s still time! Festival applications close March 31 🌸

We’re so grateful to continue building a space that celebrates and supports local women artists, and we can’t wait to see both your festival applications now and your grant applications in June!

The Women’s Art Festival couldn’t possibly run so smoothly without the help of your generous volunteers! We work hard, have fun, and are always ready to be of assistance to our vendors and visitors. Come join the volunteer team for this year’s event!

That’s a wrap on Women’s Art Festival 2025 🎉 Our committee worked hard over the last few months to bring this amazing event together, and we want to take a moment to thank the people who helped make it all possible 🔅

Thank you to our volunteers! It’s only with your help that events like this run so smoothly!

To the artists: Thank you for bringing your creativity to Kingston. We hope you all had a great day of networking and sharing your art 🌸

Thank you to our food vendors for feeding the crowds with care and flavour!

To the performers: Your talent and passion filled the stage with unforgettable moments. You brought the spirit of the festival to life.
