Garrett Mealing has been taking on the Knox Mountain Hill Climb since 2015 behind the wheel of his 1995 Eagle Talon, affectionately known as “Sir Wingston.”
His journey hasn’t been an easy one — engine fire, a hard crash in Turn 9, blown turbos, and engine failures have all tested his resolve. But Garrett keeps coming back stronger every year 💪
That perseverance has paid off in a big way. Garrett currently holds:
🏆 Unlimited-2 Record: 1:50.286
🏆 GT-M Record: 1:51.154
With massive aero, unreal grip, and a fearless driver at the wheel, Sir Wingston is a serious force on the mountain.
And when he’s not racing? Garrett is also one of the many dedicated volunteers whose behind-the-scenes work helps make the Knox Mountain Hill Climb the incredible event it is.

More Canadians than ever are trading in U.S. vacations for Mexico, with data showing an 11% jump in Canadian travel to Mexico between January and September 2025. Major resort chains like Meliá Hotels have reported even larger gains, with Canadian visitors up 22% year over year.

The shift comes amid declining travel to the U.S., where Canadian tourism has dropped 24% overall, including steep declines in Las Vegas, New York, and Honolulu.

Analysts point to a mix of political and personal reasons for the change, with some Canadians citing tensions tied to U.S. politics and a desire to support friendlier destinations. As winter sets in, destinations like Puerto Vallarta and Cancun are seeing record demand from Canadians seeking both sun and a statement with their travel dollars.
