Kaslo Jazz Etc. Festival

Kaslo Jazz Etc. Festival Big Mountains. Small Village. Floating Stage. All weekend long, world-class musicians perform against our breathtaking backdrop of mountains and sky.

This intimate and laid-back world-class festival has been hosting big names and newly discovered gems of the music business since 1992. This year, the Kaslo Jazz Etc Festival will once again make use of the astounding acoustics of Kaslo Bay Park to showcase an array of blues, jazz, latin, folk and world music. Our unique floating stage transforms Kaslo Bay Park into a natural green amphitheater and sends live music reverberating out over Kootenay Lake. Selected as one of the “Top ten places to get out doors and be in tune,” by USA Today in 2007, and one of the “Top 10 places to enjoy outdoor summer music” by REUTERS in 2013, the Kaslo Bay floating stage has been recognized as one of the premier outdoor music venues in the world. Festival goers dance in the sand, swim around the stage, or relax in the grass and enjoy the delicious offerings of local food and drink vendors. The intimate, laid-back vibe of this festival seduces audiences and performers alike, so come discover the magic, and "Get Real" in the Kootenays this summer.

We are beyond excited to welcome JUNO award-winning singer-songwriter Cara Luft to the historic Langham Theatre, performing alongside the incredibly talented Clayton Parsons and Rob McLaren! Saturday, August 1, 4:00 PM @ The Langham; doors open at 3:30. Tickets are $25 and available at the link in our bio.

Cara Luft is a force of nature on stage. Known for her fierce clawhammer banjo, stellar guitar work, and contagiously hilarious storytelling, Cara returns to the Kootenays with a brilliant collection of songs from her personal, joy-filled new album, My Heart Will Always Be.

Cara's bringing some serious backup for this show:
Clayton Parsons: The East Kootenay-based songwriting master and multi-instrumentalist who co-wrote the new album.
Rob McLaren: Master picker (of Union Duke & The Barrel Boys fame).

Together, this trio brings unbelievable musicianship, rich vocal harmonies, and—yes, you heard that right—the occasional three-banjo spectacle that will have our intimate theatre absolutely buzzing!

From One Not-For-Profit Festival Family to Another!

This summer may look a little different for the Kaslo Jazz Etc. family, but one thing hasn't changed—our incredible community.

We are deeply grateful to the team to the Salmon Arm Folk Music Society for extending such a generous welcome to Kaslo Jazz patrons this year. Their kindness and support are a reminder of what makes the festival community so special.

While we take the time to rebuild and prepare for our return to the Floating Stage in 2027, we encourage everyone who can to experience the amazing music, community, and atmosphere that Roots & Blues has become known for.

Supporting one another is what keeps independent festivals strong.

From all of us at Kaslo Jazz Etc., thank you, Roots & Blues. We can't wait to celebrate with many of you in Salmon Arm.

Here's to great music, great people, and the friendships that make festivals unforgettable.

And join Kaslo on the August long weekend to help keep the live music vibe alive and see some great local artists @ The Kaslo Block Party! A community-wide celebration. Tickets and schedule available here: https://kaslojazzfest.com/kaslo-block-party/

Please see the attached graphics for a message from our Board of Directors.

We’ve done everything we can to carry on with planning a 2026 festival. However, given our financial situation and the rising costs to produce festivals, we must take a pause and reimagine what we do, how we do it, and how to make it sustainable for the next generation. Unfortunately, there will not be a three day Kaslo Jazz Etc Festival this summer in Kaslo Bay Park. We still intend to produce events throughout 2026 and beyond, but we need a bit more time to determine what that looks like. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for 33 years of amazing memories, and apologize to anyone who was planning on attending Kaslo Jazz this year. If you bought your early bird tickets already - we’ll be in touch soon.

As we are a small team, commenting is being turned off for this post. If you are able, please visit go.kaslojazzfest.com/donate to donate, and any questions or ideas should be directed to [email protected]

With much love and gratitude
