Welcome to the TRU Conference Centre!

We are pleased to welcome delegates, researchers, practitioners, knowledge holders, and community partners attending Fire in a Changing World: Wildfire Symposium, hosted by Thompson Rivers University (TRU) and the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC).

As wildfire regimes continue to shift at unprecedented rates across British Columbia and around the world, this symposium brings together diverse perspectives to explore the complex challenges and opportunities presented by our changing relationship with fire. Through collaboration, discussion, and knowledge sharing, participants will examine how changing climates, land-use practices, governance frameworks, and community responses are shaping the future of wildfire management and resilience.

We are honoured to host this important gathering and wish all attendees a productive and inspiring symposium.

🍁 Welcome to Kamloops. Welcome to the TRU Conference Centre. Welcome to Fire in a Changing World. 🤝
