Hope, BC 10K On March 18, 2018 we invite you to run or walk in Hope's inaugural 5K and 10K chip timed run. Partial proceeds will go towards our Local Food Bank.

On March 18, 2018 we invite you to run or walk in Hope's first 5K and 10K chip timed run. All participants will receiver a finisher medal, finisher certificate, and a race day photo. There are also options of a t-shirt, backpack, and / or personalized water bottle. The top male and female 10K runners will receive a $500 cash prize. The run will end in Memorial Park with a gourmet lunch from 293 Wa

llace. We also encourage families to come out and participate as there will be a kid friendly zone with balloons and face painting. Early registration starts on November 9, 2017 and the entry fee at this time will be $28. To register go to : www.hopechamber.ca

ANNOUNCEMENT

Hello runners!!! There has been so much change since the last time the Hope 10K hit social media. It’s been a daunting challenge navigating Covid 19. But as runners, we all know how to persevere and often achieve the impossible. On behalf of the Hope 10k, we truly wish everyone the very best. So, hang in there, we’ll make it!

We’re reaching out to everyone to announce some exciting news! We want to

ONE : let everyone know that the Hope 10 k is alive and kicking

and

TWO : there is a new team of volunteers leading the way for our next big run. In particular, we would like to introduce Miles and his amazing team. Miles helped map out the original route for the first run, and is a tremendous runner and athlete. There are no specifics on when the next run will take place, but stay tuned, we intend to hit the pavement running.

So, lets give the new team a round of applause! We have kept “Hope Alive”….that is the Hope 10K.

Pretty soon we’ll all be lacing up and crossing the finish line together! Until then, keep smiling and keep running!!!

Heroes. Real heroes. That is what every person on the Hope Volunteer Search and Rescue is - a hero. They will look for you in the rain, snow, darkness and they won't stop. The Hope 10K run was blessed to have the Hope Volunteer Search and Rescue follow each and every one of our runners and walkers at our race.

People were commenting on how "cool it was to have quads follow us for our safety". It really was amazing to have Mario and the team come out and support the Hope 10K.

Next time when you see one of the Hope Search and rescue team members make sure you say thanks because although they may be ordinary people like me and you they do an extraordinary thing for everyone. You guys are simply awesome!

We were so honored to have Optimum Sport & Health Centre come out to the Inaugural Hope 10K and provide their services for free before and after the race! Phenomenal! We had a lot of amazing feed back from the participants.

We had one person write “I had a PR at the Hope 10K Run. I got to say that those guys at the Optimum tent helped me big time”. Well, Optimum Sport & Health Centre I think you made a difference with that athlete.

A major shout out to Chiropractor Dr. Cornelius van de Wall for helping to coordinate Optimum’s participation at the Hope 10K run. You helped make the Hope 10K run a special event and we are truly great full.

If you haven’t seen Dr. Cornelius van de Wall now is the time. If you want to take your sport to a higher level its time you call the team at Optimum. Their number is (604) 703-6470 .

In September 2019 we will open up early bird registration for the second Hope BC 10K which will be held on March 29, 2020!

If you don't know already, we have a full page in the Hope Standard with everyone's times and names for both the 10k and 5k runs. You can purchase the paper to keep as a personal keepsake by contacting the Hope Standard at 604 869 2421.

In the full page we also thank all of our sponsors and a few outstanding contributors that made the race a success.

We've had a lot of people asking for more photos and yes we will post them here this week as well!
