Thank you for attending the 2025 MPH Student-Led Conference! A special thank you to our incredible speakers Jen Bonner, Liz Pfisterer, Dr. Julia Abelson, Dr. Pascal Djiadeu, and Jessica Graber, as well as our workshop facilitators Dr. Ellen Amster and Dr.Jennifer Walker, for sharing their knowledge and expertise with us.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Program Administrator Lyndenn Kelly, Program Director Dr. Elizabeth Alvarez, and the MPHSLC Planning Committee for their dedication and effort in organizing this event.

Dr. Walker has demonstrated significant national and international leadership in aging and dementia research as well as Indigenous data sovereignty and governance. She will be leading the second workshop “Indigenous Community-centred Approaches to Program

Dr. Ellen Amster is an interdisciplinary historian and global health researcher whose work uncovers how cultural and historical contexts shape medical knowledge and practice. She will be leading the first workshop “Why is Anyone Anti-Vaccine? A History of Vaccination and Anti-Vaccination.”

🌟 Meet Our Speaker: Jessica Gaber 🌟

Jessica Gaber is a registered social worker and health researcher currently doing her PhD in Health Policy here at McMaster. She is looking into helping make prison health research more ethical, acceptable, and feasible. She will be finishing off our conference with her talk “Creating Change, Not Harm: Principles for Ethical Community Health Research.”
