This is a message we never wanted to write. After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue Social Media Day Halifax.

Our goal has always been to create an accessible, valuable, and community-driven event for small business owners, backed by local experts. Unfortunately, without confirmed sponsors, we would have had to raise ticket prices beyond what we believe many small businesses would be willing to pay. We are not willing to compromise the purpose of this event, and we cannot take the financial risk of moving forward.

We are incredibly grateful for every attendee, speaker, volunteer, and sponsor who has been part of Social Media Day Halifax over the years. The conversations, connections, and learning that happened because of this event have been truly inspiring, and we are so thankful to have been part of it with you.

Getting real for a minute. The reason you haven’t heard much about Social Media Day Halifax yet is because we haven’t been 100% sure we could make it happen. 🫣

Between shifting priorities, financial challenges, and the ever-changing world of social media, we had to take a hard look at what’s next for Social Media Day Halifax. For a while, it seemed like our beloved event might have run its course.

But after some thoughtful conversations with trusted colleagues, I think we’ve found a way forward. There will be some changes, but one thing that won’t change is our commitment to providing a top-quality learning experience for solopreneurs and small business owners—featuring local experts who actually get the realities of marketing a business online.
