Next week we have the vibrant and multitalented artist Willum (Asha Prince) coming thru to discuss his artist journey and drop some gems about the art or collaborating, networking, and other skills to build a sustainable career as an artist.

Willum (Asha Prince) is a Caribbean-Canadian multidisciplinary artist, & chameleon of the creative industry. Balancing being a core team member of 4 festivals, in positions surrounding: marketing, social media management, artist booking, hosting, artistic direction, tour managing + management services, event planning & promotion, activism and outreach / community involvement… He has quickly become an integral part of many opportunities for emerging artists in the local landscape while balancing personal practices of ethno-botany, modeling, styling, studio & live show supporting vocals, and the preparation of his debut EP. 
Willum operates in Nova Scotia and the Caribbean, & is building bridges between both worlds and creative industries simultaneously.

Erin Costelo is the Producer of CBC’s East Coast Music Hour. She has numerous awards to her credit as a musician, songwriter and music producer including multiple East Coast Music Awards, a Canadian Folk Music Award nomination and several Music Nova Scotia Awards, three of them for Producer of the Year.  Her work as a Producer was honoured with a Juno nomination in 2019 for Kaia Kater’s Grenades album.

TONIGHT at 8PM on the Halifax Waterfront (at the Salt Yard) join , , , , and for a special HUB HFX.

Qstatess is a 20 year old artist born in Toronto but resides under the bright lights in the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Music is his soul purpose and a studio is more than a second home to him. Connecting with fans, people and other artists through profound passion-full lyrics from his life stories and experiences that resonate on a deeper level has brought him an indescribable peace, and a feeling that always leaves him and his listeners wanting more.

OAJAB is a Rap artist based in Halifax, Nova Scotia and has been making rap music under the name “OAJAB” since 2019. He has released several singles and his debut album in 2022 and continues to put in the work. He incorporates messages of his faith in God and tries to convey the message of Gospel as well as references to pop culture, anime, etc., while adding fun rhyme schemes, lines, and flows!

Trapitta is a genre-blending artist from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, known for bringing raw emotion and honest storytelling to every track. Musically inclined since the age of five and dropping his first song in February 2024, Trapitta’s sound fuses melodic rap, pop, and soulful vibes, creating music that hits deep.

Juice brings a unique blend of raw lyricism and infectious melodies to the forefront of Canadian music. Hailing from Halifax, his music reflects personal experiences and societal observations. KiD Ursa is an artist, performer, and founder of Major Collective. His upcoming debut album RAGE (Survival Theory) is a bold celebration of survival and greatness, transforming personal trials into mythic storytelling. Known for his layered lyricism and powerful performances, Ursa is carving out a new era of artistry in Halifax and beyond.

MAJE is a songwriter and artist manager from East Preston. Over the past decade, he has built his brands as a creative by contributing to the community and music acne through performances on various stages. This has led to winning 2 artist competitions hosted by Music Nova Scotia, as well as multiple nominations from MNS Music Week, the ECMA’s, and ANSMA. MAJE has used his musical passion and influence to create opportunities for teaching and facilitating artistic programming for youth and emerging artists. He has worked with numerous youth organizations in HRM, including YAC, The MacPhee Centre, the YMCA, Unity Charity, and HRCE. he consistently demonstrates assertiveness and initiative in building community, fostering entrepreneurship, and creating impactful art.
