We are deeply saddened by the recent passing of Grahame Wales, affectionately known as "The Hairy Potter". Grahame, together with Debbie, made Earth and Fire Pottery a must-visit stop on the Studio Tour for more than two decades.
Together with Debbie, Grahame was dedicated to the Studio Tour, serving on its Executive for many years and contributing greatly to its success.
Our heartfelt condolences to Debbie and family

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a good friend and master potter, Grahame Wales, who passed away on Dec 4, 2025.

Grahame and his wife Debbie have been members of the ACHH for many years and have made a significant contribution to the artistic life of the county through their magnificent work and their interactions with all who knew them.

For many years, Earth and Fire Pottery was a favourite stop on the Studio Tour where “the Hairy Potter” would delight guests with his amazing skill at the wheel and his warm humour.

Grahame will be remembered as a highly skilled, creative artist who was never too busy to share a joke or to make someone laugh. He was generous with fellow potters, sharing his vast knowledge and experience.

Let’s raise a glass of scotch in memory of this remarkable artist and friend.

Our condolences to Debbie, Jenn, Josh

Homestead Pottery is Studio X on the Studio Tour – Haliburton Highlands.
Make sure you visit them tomorrow, November 29 for their Holiday Pop-Up!

This Saturday, we invite you to join us for our last Wood firing of 2025. Take the opportunity to view new pieces, browse the gallery, and savor cider beside the kiln. Kindly share this invitation, as our busy hockey schedule may prevent further open houses before the holidays. 🎄🏒✨

For our last artist feature before our final weekend, we are highlighting artists Jenn and Terry of Artech Studios!

Hot glass! Live demos! A property full of sculpture and intrigue! The Hot Shop is a special spot to visit.

Jenn and Terry run a traditional glassblowing studio in the small town of Tory Hill. They produce up-cycled glass tableware, handmade bar ware, sculptures and so much more.

This husband and wife duo are a passionate and energetic team, who both love to entertain guests in the hot shop, blowing and sculpting molten glass with fire.

Artech will be host to guest artist for Studio Tour. Be sure to add this exciting stop to your travels on the final weekend of the 2025 Studio Tour!
