Truth! These cuts need to be seriously reconsidered.
As artists who have had the privilege of playing in theatres and art centres all across Nova Scotia, we’ve seen firsthand how vital these spaces are to our communities. They’re where stories are told, traditions are shared, and connections are made.
With the recent arts funding cuts announced by Premier Tim Houston's government, many of these local venues are facing real uncertainty. These aren’t just stages - they’re community hubs, safe gathering spaces, and launching pads for young and emerging artists.
We stand in full support of the theatres, arts centres, cultural festivals, volunteers, technicians, and fellow performers who work tirelessly to keep the arts alive in every corner of our province.
Now more than ever, let’s show up. Attend a show. Volunteer. Share a post. Buy a ticket. Support local.
Our stages matter. Our stories matter. Nova Scotia’s arts community matters.
