Calithumpians - Fredericton Outdoor Summer Theatre, Branch Out Productions, and Roland Gauvin are coming to Kidfest this summer! 🌈🎨August 29 & 30 The MRTI Agency and Fredericton Capital Region Tourism are transforming Officer's Square into a family-friendly and totally free hands-on hub of entertainment, creativity, and fun.

Calithumpians - Fredericton Outdoor Summer Theatre has been educating and entertaining audiences with their signature blend of music and comedy for over 45 years! A staple of summer life in downtown Fredericton, they can be found on the Cathedral Green at 12:15 every weekday between Canada Day and Labour Day, performing free outdoor theatre for audiences of visitors and locals alike! Always "Vocal for Local," the Calithumpians aim to promote our region's rich heritage and culture in everything they do — be it shows, or tours, or drama camps!

With a strong focus on creativity, community, and inclusion, Branch Out Productions produces multiple shows each year while also offering camps, classes, workshops, and family-friendly events that inspire performers of all experience levels. BOP is excited to share musical selections from their upcoming musical r***e BOP goes POP! as part of Kidfest 2026! BOP goes POP! is a high-energy celebration of pop music from the past century, brought to life by an incredible cast of talented young performers. Get ready for a fun, feel-good journey through the hits you know and love

Through his music, activist folk songs and service to the community, Roland Gauvin tirelessly promotes a proud and vibrant Acadia. Singer-songwriter-composer and renowned musician, he established a variety of groups, such as Roland et Johnny, Les Méchants Maquereaux, and the legendary 1755, which created a new style that influenced generations of musicians. He has made a number of albums and has performed on national and international stages. He is also a mentor to many young artists. He is known as "Monsieur de l'Acadie" because of the school workshops he voluntarily developed and teaches on Acadian and Francophone culture. In addition, he donates his time and talent to a number of charitable organizations.

More incredible performers coming to Kidfest! ⭐ August 29 & 30 we're transforming Officer's Square into a family friendly and free hub of entertainment and creativity in partnership with The MRTI Agency and Fredericton Capital Region Tourism and with support from East Coast Leadership Academy

Bob Stutt has been puppeteering live and on TV for over forty years on such shows as Fraggle Rock, The Jim Henson Hour, The Friendly Giant, The Big Comfy Couch, Sesame Park, and Under The Umbrella Tree. He's also written over 300 scripts produced for CBC, CTV, PBS and Disney, and has performed live everywhere from the street corners of Toronto to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington. He recently published his first novel, Puppet, an adult thriller that is short-listed for the 2026 New Brunswick Book Awards fiction prize.

McKayla Daigle (she/her), with over 20 years of performing experience, has captivated many audiences with her original music. Her music spans through Folk, Country, Jazz, includes soulful melodies, and is inspired by her life experiences. In addition to her musical talent, McKayla's stage presence is enhanced by her playful banter, wit and humour, helping her to connect with listeners on a deeper level. With just shy of a decade working with youth of all walks of life, she is happy to be sharing
her original children’s song “6 Senses” — alongside other sing-a-longs and stories — with the audiences attending Kidfest 2026.

Mike Bravener has been entertaining children of all ages for over 40 years! His most recent children’s book Lumberjack’s Alphabet is being sold across Canada and features the voices of students from Barkers Point Elementary School. Mike’s Children’s Album “At The Market” has sold out and is still a favourite among many who used to see him every Saturday morning at The Boyce Farmer’s Market entertaining in the food court for many years. Mike’s music is featured regularly on CBC radio as he shares and sings the traditional folk songs of the Miramichi and NB.

The Upsy Daisies deliver vibrant, interactive performances that turn family audiences into part of the show. Blending original music with classic favourites, their concerts are packed with movement, storytelling, and joyful connection. Designed for community stages and festival environments, their shows keep energy high while remaining inclusive and accessible for all ages.

Award-winning duo Razzmatazz for Kids will get you hugging someone you love, clucking like a chicken, riding a bumpy bus, laughing, singing, and hopping to their playful, interactive children's songs. Their song, “Going to my Grandma’s”, was aired on Sesame Street, and they have toured in Canada, the U.S. and France.

Kidfest is a brand new free & family friendly festival in Downtown Fredericton August 29 & 30 🌈 Our end of summer celebration is co-presented by The MRTI Agency and Fredericton Capital Region Tourism features live performances, interactive activities, creative workshops, games, and engaging experiences tailored to children of all ages.

Known for her nostalgic folk music for children, Molly Whuppie Music has built a community of over 2 million social media followers. Her music reaches audiences worldwide while staying grounded in the joy of sharing songs from her home on Prince Edward Island. She has released two full-length albums since 2024 and is a nominee for 2026 Children’s Artist of the Year by the East Coast Music Association.

There’s no other band around like Gordie MacKeeman and His Rhythm Boys. Led by fiddling wiz Gordie “Crazylegs” MacKeeman, the roots quartet features all-star pickers and singers, with everything from down-home country to reckless rockabilly to intricate bluegrass. Now the boys are back with their latest release, Dreamland.
