Just Announced:

We've got another evening of storytelling in the works!

This next instalment in our storytelling series will feature eight true stories performed live, based on the theme of Friends & Family.

Some of the storytellers for this event include Fredericton writer and standup comic Gill Salmon, local author Jen Selk, writer and photographer Ramneet Kalra, CSAC's very own Matt Carter, and others.

As with past storytelling events, 50% of the proceeds will be donated to a local partnered charity. This time we will be supporting Hospice Fredericton.

Friends & Family | August 4 | Charlotte Street Arts Centre | Doors at 7. Show at 7:30 p.m. | PAY WHAT YOU WISH tickets available here: https://www.zeffy.com/en-CA/ticketing/friends-and-family-an-evening-of-storytelling

This event is being co-produced in partnership with our friends at the UNB Art Centre in support of their summer exhibition, Brief Infinity, an ongoing body of work by Canadian visual artist Danielle Hogan. Brief Infinity includes over 1000 paintings and, working across multiple media, investigates notions of time, precarity, grief and joy. The works are both absolute in their presence and incomplete in what they leave open to the viewer.

We encourage everyone to visit the exhibition June 24 - August 28, 2026 at the UNB Art Centre, 9 Bailey Drive, University of New Brunswick, Fredericton.

Congratulations to our DJs for completing the DJ classes! We had a blast 💿🎧

A huge thanks to our instructors, DJ Navi, Reyving, and Blue Angel for leading these classes.

We would also like to thank our partners and funders for helping make this program possible: the Canada Race Relations Foundation, the Multicultural Association of Fredericton, and Disconexion. Your support helped create an opportunity for youth to learn new skills, build confidence, and connect through music.

Stay tuned for more community music programming and future DJ events 💿🎧

We just added a limited number of the latest issue of Mind Bloating to the zine library.

Issue 30 was created in partnership with the Living Roots Music Festival, running this week in Fredericton. Living Roots have a long tradition of showcasing local writers which makes this match-up extra special.

As Mind Bloating's Corenski Nowlan explains, "For the first time ever the zine is filled not with poetry and prose but with song lyrics. What are lyrics if not poetry? I would go as far as to say that some of my favourite poetry that has even been written happens to be the lyrics to songs."

All the poetry in issue 30 was penned by musicians performing this week at Living Roots 11. What a great way to celebrate Fredericton's longest running zine publication and the 11th edition of this important festival?!

Grab your free copy while you can. And plan to join us here at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre on Saturday evening for the East & Nowhere Songwriter's Showcase with Colin Fowlie and the Humble Few. Doors at 6:30 p.m.

This funding will help stabilize arts organizations across New Brunswick, reinforce the important role the sector plays as an economic and cultural driver for our province, and support the artists and cultural experiences that help build vibrant communities across New Brunswick.

Our dear friend and photographer extraordinaire dropped off issue #18 of recently. We don't get a lot of submissions in languages other than English, so this one's a real treat and a great international addition to our collection.

The Fredericton Zine Library is located on the first floor of the Charlotte Street Arts Centre. If you’re a zine maker, get in touch. We’d love to include your zine in our library and/or a future post in this series.
