Our monthly yard waste pickup program is next week, May 25-29! 🌿

From now to November, yard waste will be collected in the last week of each month (on your regular collection date). Your yard waste will help create more topsoil for our city parks and flowerbeds, and keep green material away from our landfill!

It’s time for your Weekly Construction Update! 👷‍♂️ We have some big projects on the move this week, so read carefully and check out our detour maps to make your travels as smooth as possible!

⚒️Crocket Street will be closed from Long Court to Agnew Street starting Monday, May 25, until the end of August. Local access will be maintained, and through traffic will detour via Canada Street, Murray Avenue, and Cliffe Street. This work includes upgrades to underground water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer infrastructure to support local and upstream development. Detour map: www.fredericton.ca/crocketstreet

🚧 Lincoln Road work is underway between the Irving and 278 Lincoln Road. Businesses remain open; however, the road is closed to through traffic from Wilsey Road to Forest Hill Road, with a detour in place via Forest Hill Road. Drivers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time, especially during peak hours, due to heavier traffic along the detour. This project includes the replacement of water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer mains. Detour map: www.fredericton.ca/lincolnroad

🪏The Golf Club Road will be closed from Duncan Lane to Coburn Drive beginning on Wednesday, May 27 for upgrades to the intersection at Duncan Lane and extension of the existing sidewalk. Traffic will be detoured via Prospect Street and Woodstock Road. These upgrades will improve safety for both drivers and pedestrians. www.fredericton.ca/golfclubroad

🏗️King Street, between Carleton and Regent, will be closed beginning on Monday, May 25 for approximately three weeks for various upgrades. Access to Barker House Lane will remain via Regent Street, and access to the parking lot east of the NB Power Building will be available from Carleton Street.

🚧 Milling operations have been completed on the following streets. There will be minor interruptions next week as crews adjust manhole covers and perform maintenance to prepare for paving:
• Brunswick Street
• Lincoln Road
• Alison Boulevard
• Woodstock Road

🛠 Crews will continue curb and sidewalk work on Carleton Street and St. Mary’s Street, with work beginning on Bridge Street next week. This work will see traffic reduced to one lane with flaggers on site.

🚷 The sidewalk on Carleton Street next to the NB Power building will be closed intermittently until November 2027 due to ongoing building renovations.

💧 The City’s annual water main flushing program is underway and will continue until the second week of August. Learn more 👉www.fredericton.ca/watermainflushing

🧱 Ongoing projects include Noble Street, Northumberland Street, Killarney Lake Park, the Garrison Play Area and the Cliffe Street Linear Piping Extension.
