Under the glow of the moon, get up n get rowdy with Ancient Greece!

Post-punk rockers Ancient Greece hail from the underworld of the Toronto music scene. This is the odyssey of a band stitched together not just by music but by camaraderie and a penchant for the anarchic. Raspy echoes, beating drums, guttural chords, and sharp melodic riffs weave tales of urban decay and what it means to be chewed up, swallowed alive, and come out the other end kicking and screaming.

Keeping the tunes flowing long after dark, The Try Umphs!

Not bothering to follow any conventional paths, Toronto’s The Try Umphs launched in November of 2025 with a blitz of intense live shows, almost all played in Africa. Led by Jay Share-it, who Razorcake describes as “a hippie-esque, two-meter-tall Native American GG Allin with long black hair,” the band plays 60s garage psych, drenched in reverb and swirling with echo. Live shows feature as many as eight members onstage, anchored by Andrew Moszynski (The Deadly Snakes, Pink Mountaintops, Quest For Fire) and Dylan Frankland (Tallies, Head Crack), with shakers, tambourines, too many guitars to count, and a sitar when the player isn’t in jail.

River & Sky marks a rare Canadian appearance, and will be one of the only shows they play that didn’t require multiple flights, boats and extensive vaccinations

Nothing like a late afternoon dance party on the beach, with Niña Volcán!

Niña Volcán is a dynamic force in the emerging “Canadian cumbia” scene, igniting dance floors with their blend of cumbia, electronica, jazz, and afrobeat. Known for electrifying performances at Drom Taberna, BSMT 254, Bloom Festival and many of Toronto’s vibrant street festivals including DoWest Fest, Beaches Jazz Festival, and Geary Art Crawl, they are taking the local latin music scene by storm and constantly seeking to push the boundaries of what modern cumbia can be. Paying homage to the influence of cumbia across Latin America and the world, this Toronto-based dance band delivers a fresh, evolving musical experience that captivates both seasoned and new audiences. Backed by an Ontario Arts Council recording grant, they released their debut album ‘Macondo’ in November 2025 featuring cumbia legends Pedro Ojeda (Romperayo, Frente Cumbiero) on drums and percussion and mixing by Eblis Alvarez (Meridian Brothers).

Join us on Friday to bask in the sun, and listen to Burs on the beach!

Burs is named for the small things that stick with you, whose songs seek to capture just that. Formed in 2019, Lauren Dillen (vox/guitar), Ray Goudy (vox/guitar), Devon Savas (vox/bass), and Aidan McConnell (drums)
gather from a variety of musical backgrounds, blending deep folk roots with experimental sonic elements, and tactful, fluid passages of improvisation. Their 2022 debut Holding Patterns earned praise from The
R***e as “a rich and often ethereal collection of songs able to change with fluid ease.

Since the release of their sophomore album, Burs has continued to expand their reach with radio support from SiriusXM’s North Americana and Unplugged North, as well as features on platforms like Cups N Cakes.

Burs has toured extensively, sharing stages with Ada Lea, Case Oats, Jake Xerxes Fussell, Field Guide, Rachel Bobbitt, and Another Michael, and performing at festivals such as Winterruption, Highlands Music Festival, Cicada Music Festival, Exclaim!’s Class of 2024, as well as recent appearances at Wavelength Music Festival and JUNOfest.

Significance, Otherness — their second full-length album — was released on Nov 21, 2025 via Birthday Cake Records.

Tip yer hat to Fraser Wayne and the Desert Eagles, opening the main stage on Thursday night!

Born and raised in rural Ontario, bandleader and songwriter, Fraser Wayne, cut their teeth in the music world after moving to Montreal in 2014 and forming seminal garage rock band, The Fuzzy Undertones. Wayne was an integral part of the underground music scene in Montreal for the past 10 years before making the move back to Ontario to work on a farm and form a backing band of Toronto rock n roll legends dubbed “The Desert Eagles.” The resulting project breaks into some diverse influences, ranging from Canadiana, folk-rock, spaghetti western soundtracks and more. The group, including members of ROY, Vypers, OLGA, and Darryl Hannah, will be releasing their first full length album in the summer of 2026 (via Good Gourd Records).

A cowpoke of many hats - you can catch Fraser playing an intimate solo set at your local dive bar, or headlining festivals with a full backing band - always blending their country / rock n roll influences with honest-to-the-bone lyricism. Wayne’s dedication to emotional authenticity from a q***r perspective, has made them a mainstay in the burgeoning Toronto country music scene. With years of performing and touring experience behind them, including supporting slots for Zachary Lucky, Bobby Dove, Elliot C Way, Spindrift and The Sadies, Fraser Wayne’s haunting, gothic take on country and western is set to take no prisoners.

Up next on Friday’s main stage!

The Strange Happenings are a psychedelic rock band from Kingston/Wolfe Island known for “spaceship garage” and post-punk sounds. Members Owen Davies (drums), Sherwood Lucas (bass), Cohen Boo Sansom (guitar, vocals), and Grog Watson (synth, guitar, vocals) came together along the shores of the St. Lawrence, conjuring dirty riffs and golden teachings into their music. Their 2024 debut REALMLORD delivers fuzzed-out, druidic guitar work and raw, live-tracked recordings.

We can’t wait to get groovy on the beach with Hélène Barbier!

Hailing from France and based in Montreal over the last decade, Hélène Barbier switches between English and French atop aggressively anti-complicated avant-pop melodies. Surrounded by talented musicians whom she knows to be allergic to tired chords and unnecessary fillers, she creates an imbalance through juxtaposition. Four simple notes become evocative alongside four disorienting, different notes, and this simplistic rule has become a basis for complex play.
