🎬 Calling all East Kootenay filmmakers! 🎥

The 19th Annual Reel Canadian Film Festival is now accepting submissions for Local Reels!

Whether you're an experienced filmmaker or creating your very first short film, this is your chance to see your work on the big screen at the festival in January 2027.

There’s no need to rush—the Programming Committee will be accepting submissions until the end of the year, so you have plenty of time to finish your project and send it in.

And that’s a wrap! The 18th Annual Reel Canadian Film Festival was truly one for the books. We spent the weekend celebrating thought-provoking, diverse, and creative independent Canadian films, and it was an incredible reminder of just how much talent exists in our film community.

None of this would be possible without you, our fellow film lovers. Thank you for coming out, filling the seats, and sharing the love for Canadian cinema. Huge thanks to our amazing volunteers and Programming Committee, and to our sponsors and festival partners, your ongoing support means everything to us.

A massive thank you to Dennis and Rox, and to the team at the Vogue Theatre, for all the behind-the-scenes work that helps to keep the festival running smoothly.

What a fantastic Opening Night at the Reel Canadian Film Festival!
