Festival Favourites!

This week, we’re highlighting returning Elora Festival artists and celebrating the outstanding performances that have us excited to welcome them back this summer. From last year, we are thrilled to welcome back Rachel Fenlon and the Penderecki String Quartet.

Rachel Fenlon is a soprano and pianist that is known for playing self-accompanied recitals as both a singer and pianist, and wowed us with her performance of Schubert's Winterreise last summer.

The Penderecki String Quartet is celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, and was featured in the Indo-Fusion collaboration concert, Kaleidoscope, last summer with Autorickshaw and The Elora Singers.

You can catch these incredible musicians in collaboration with The Elora Singers on Saturday, July 11 at 7:30PM at the Gambrel Barn. Tickets are available at EloraFestival.ca or by calling 519-846-0331.

“Did you spring out of heaven or hell, O Beauty?” (Baudelaire)

One of classical harp’s most distinctive emerging soloists, Noël Wan brings together her unique artistic voice and intellectual imagination in an all-new solo program, Les Fleurs du Mal. Pairing pieces by beloved late Romantic composers with exquisite twenty-first century works, she and her harp conjure a tangled, efflorescent world of decadence, perversion, and beauty.

The Elora Festival welcomes Edmonton’s professional chamber choir, Pro Coro Canada, and their conductor Michael Zaugg for an exciting program of exceptional music. At the heart of the program is "The Nightingale" by Latvian composer, Uģis Prauliņš—a captivating retelling of "The Nightingale" by Hans Christian Andersen. Blending virtuosic choral writing with playful theatrical flair, Prauliņš’s work brings the beloved tale to life in a kaleidoscope of musical styles and textures.
