Flying Canoë Volant Celebrated on Treaty 6 land, Flying Canoë Volant is a free, family-friendly & magical winter event 🛶 A magical time for all to be had!

We invite you to discover the legend of La Chasse-galerie (The Flying Canoe), a combination of French-Canadian and First-Nations legends told by various lost canoeists along a lit trail in the Mill Creek Ravine. Let your imagination fly with the many light installations among the trees and snow banks; Warm up with a cup of tea, conversation and drumming at the First-Nations Camp; Enjoy some Frenc

h Canadian stories at the Trapper’s cabin; stop at the Métis camp to take in some music, learn some traditional Métis dance, and make bannock on the fire. A horse-drawn wagon will bring you from the Mill Creek Ravine to Rutherford School where you can savor some delicious treats at the Café Croissant organized by the students. Then land at La Cité Francophone where there is an outdoor patio, live DJ, a snow slide and children's activities. A variety of French and English musical performances will await you in the cabaret of La Cité, offering a bilingual experience through song and live programming. Discover a variety of aboriginal artists from the Rubaboo festival in the theatre. Flying Canoë Volant vous invite à découvrir la légende ''La Chasse-galerie'', racontée par une variété de canoéistes perdus sur les sentiers du ravin Mill Creek. Laissez-vous emporté dans l’univers de lumières parmi les arbres et les bancs de neige; réchauffez-vous avec un thé, de la conversation et des chants traditionnels au Camp des Premières nations; voyagez à travers les histoires du conteur Roger Dallaire à la Cabane du trappeur; arrêtez au Camp Métis pour un peu de musique, de la danse traditionnelle et du bannock sur le feu. Ensuite, un traîneau vous apportera jusqu’à l’École Rutherford School où vous pouvez déguster un Café Croissant, préparé et servi par ses étudiants. Finalement arrivé à La Cité francophone, vous pouvez profiter du patio d’hiver, sa glissade de neige et des activités pour enfant. Une programmation musicale bilingue vous attendra dans le cabaret de La Cité ainsi qu’une programmation d’une variété d’artistes aborigènes du Festival Rubaboo dans le théâtre. Having performed internationally, including at the 2012 London Olympics, Daniel brings passion, precision, and high-energy fiddle to the stage.
