Let’s kick off the new year lingering and listening in God’s presence together!

If you’re feeling weary from December and the past year, but desire to hear from God and be filled with a fresh sense of hope for the year ahead, or if you’re excited about a fresh start and eager to step into what God has for you, we are creating a space for you to come, pause and hear from God. We may even get creative and make some prayer boards. 👀

While this is in no way a requirement for a flourishing year, there is something that happens in us when we choose to praise God for what He has brought us through - whether it was the worst year or best year of our life - and offer our plans for 2025 to Him. Letting go of our desire to control and become comfortable with dependency on Him.

Over the past few months, we’ve embarked on a unique small group experience where we:

✨ Gathered in various cafés and restaurants across the city.
✨ Shared meals. 
✨ Invited you to join whenever you could.
✨ Practiced listening to God’s voice.
✨ Shared the 2% of ourselves that others may not know.
✨ Loved on our city.
✨ Built connections with other women following Jesus.

It’s been a wild and beautiful journey!

Three Lessons Learned:

1️⃣ Community is essential. Women following Jesus in Edmonton long for a deep, authentic community where they can be challenged, encouraged, and loved for who they truly are.

2️⃣ God speaks everywhere. Hearing from Him doesn’t always require a quiet space. We discovered this firsthand as we prayed and listened in public places.

3️⃣ You might be someone’s answered prayer. Time and again, God used this group to speak. A word or image shared by one woman often deeply resonated with another, becoming a clear message meant just for her.

Three Encouragements for You:

1️⃣ Show up and be present. Whether it’s with us, your local church, or another small group, dive into community. You’ll be amazed at what God does when you’re all in.

2️⃣ Listen to His voice. Amid the busyness of Christmas, take a moment to ask:
* What do You want me to know today?
* What do You want me to know about this situation or person?

3️⃣ Step out in faith. If God is nudging you toward something that feels scary or out of your comfort zone, trust Him and go for it. Dependence on Him is the sweet spot for a life of intimacy with Jesus.

We have LOVED the conversations, the community, the intimate moments where it feels like heaven invades earth for a moment that we have been able to experience together over the past few months.

You are not meant to do life alone. Building community requires effort, intentionality and vulnerability. But in return, you can gain encouragement that draws you back to Jesus, reminders that you are not alone, support to challenge the lies we so often believe, the freedom to be fully yourself, and plenty of shared laughter.

Come on over for dinner and a time of community in south east Edmonton at 6:15pm this Thursday, October 17!

For the past three weeks we have been gathering for our small group! If you don’t know about it, check out a few posts back.

This Thursday, one of the amazing woman in our community, along with her husband, has graciously offered to host and serve us a delicious meal for small group!

It’s going to be a meaningful night filled with yummy food, great community, prayer and encouragement. It’s a perfect opportunity to meet new friends or come with those you know.

What are you doing this Thursday?

We are starting our weekly gathering on September 26 at 7pm and we want you there!

Who is this for?
Any woman in any stage of life who is desiring community that champions and challenges one another in their faith.

When is this happening?
Every Thursday evening, starting September 26, we will meet at 7pm at various locations across the city. This week we are meeting at Remedy on Whyte Ave.

Do I have to sign-up or commit for the entire time?
While you do not need to commit to coming every week, to give us a better idea of how many people we can expect, please fill out the quick form in our bio if you plan on attending this Thursday. Whether you join us every week or just once in a while, you are always welcome.

What will we be doing?
This isn’t your typical small group. There’s no set curriculum or guided study. Instead, we’ll dedicate time each week to practice listening for God’s voice. Through prayer we’ll create space to hear from the Holy Spirit and allow Him to move in our hearts and minds.

If you want to grow in learning and hearing the voice of God, be challenged in your faith and do it all alongside like-hearted women - then this is for you!

For many of us this will be a new practice, and we are so excited to explore it together.

Hey WFY community 👋 it has been a hot minute! The season after our spring conference was a bit of a whirlwind, and as we have been seeking Jesus and what he would have for us here we took some time to get quiet.

We are excited to share more about what this fall season will look like and invite you to make space in your own life to ask Jesus what he has for you in this season. Be open, be ready. More details are coming real soon!
