[SOLD OUT] Sergei Babayan’s concert tonight is sold out!

Babayan returns to VPS for a third appearance, following performances in 2023 and 2024 that remain among the most memorable in our festival’s history.

Bach published the Goldberg Variations in 1741, “composed for music lovers to refresh their spirits.” The nickname comes from a story told sixty years later. Count Kaiserling suffered from sleepless nights. He asked Bach for pieces gentle and lively enough to cheer him through them. His private musician, Johann Gottlieb Goldberg, played them in an antechamber. Whether any of it is true, no one knows.
