Good luck to our hometown girl, Ashley Torpe! She is vying to become Miss Rodeo Canada, and definitely has what it takes!
Meet Ashley Torpe, Miss Rodeo Wainwright ✨
Ashley Torpe was raised just outside Wainwright, Alberta, where farming and horses have always been part of daily life. She’s a sixth-generation farmer and has spent close to 20 years in the saddle, riding both western and English. While she has a deep appreciation for the structure and precision of the hunter ring, she’s found a true sense of community and excitement in the world of barrel racing.
Her riding has taken her across North America, from English show rings to rodeo arenas. Over the years, she’s trained under Olympians and Hall of Fame riders, built lasting friendships, and learned that the best parts of rodeo often happen behind the scenes. When she’s not barrel racing, she can usually be found golfing, helping with the cows, or staying connected to the community that keeps the sport going.
Outside the rodeo world, Ashley works full-time in Alberta’s energy industry. Her role involves supporting field teams with safety and environmental compliance-work that’s fast-paced, hands-on, and constantly evolving. Balancing a full-time job with rodeo
commitments has taught her how to stay efficient, adaptable, and steady under pressure.
As Miss Rodeo Wainwright, she represents one of Alberta’s most respected rodeos and serves on the Wainwright Stampede committee. Whether she’s crawling under buildings to install PVC pipe or waving from horseback in a grand entry, Ashley shows up ready to work.
She’s proud to bring her experience, perspective, and dedication to the Miss Rodeo Canada stage.
