Unfortunately the restart of indoor sports seems to be an obstacle to our 3 on 3 event. We are happy to see sports leagues restarting and the intent of our tournament was to give children a place to play. To the ones that suggested that we add an adult division, we appreciate the suggestion but since we are the Optimist Club and our mandate is under 18 it is not what the intent was. We like to see children play and it was always meant to give them an event.
Due to the lack of teams registered we will refund those that did register and with any luck next year we can try again. We will still have our canteen open this Saturday and we would love to see the rinks full of people and maybe we can run some pick up events. We will have some music playing and try to make a fun day of it. Thursday February 3rd is International Optimist day and we want to celebrate our organization. Stop by the canteen on Saturday and we will have a free hot chocolate for all skaters that use the ice at Optimist Park.

Hello everyone.

We are trying to figure out why registration is low or non-existent, is it the age groups? The dates? The times? We are only trying to put on an event for you to come and have some fun, where we are sitting now without an influx of registration today, tomorrow the event will be canceled. Please let us know what it is you would like to see.

Registration is now open for the first annual Optimist Club of Cornwall Winter Classic, happening February 3rd,4th and 5th at Optimist Park.

Get your teams together and get registered at https://optimistclubofcornwall.org/

The tournament will commence on Thursday at 5pm as part of Optimist international day,

Do not forget when you register to download your rules and waiver form, both must be signed and submitted at the start of your games. There is no registration on the day of the events. All registration is online only, the team captain can register the team. You can register up to 6 players but only 3 on the ice at any given time. The only required safety equipment is a helmet.

So, grab your stick, your skates and helmet and get registered today, let us see what park has the best 3on3 team in Cornwall. Is it you?

We are all just a little tired of the current situation. Winter and such.

Say welcome to the 1st annual Optimist Club of Cornwall Winter Classic 3on3 Hockey Tournament.

This is a 3on3 hockey style tournament with no goalies, this will be held at Optimist Park, stay tuned for more information to follow. But some info to get you going. Start getting them teams ready, Maximum 6 players per team, at a cost of $10per team 3 players at a time per team on the ice, but in true Optimist fashion we will be giving you the $10 back in canteen credits if you show up on time. This is going to be a fun annual event. We look forward to seeing all of you out at the rink.
