The Canadian Military Wives Choirs – Comox invites the community to an uplifting afternoon of music at their spring concert, "Rising Voices," on Saturday, May 31 at 3:00 PM at the 19 Wing Chapel.
The concert will feature songs about courage, love, and becoming who we are; themes that resonate deeply within the military family community and beyond.
A highlight of the performance will be a reimagined version of Joni Mitchell's iconic "Big Yellow Taxi," with lyrics specially modified to honour the transformation happening at the former mill site in Comox. The Kus-kus-sum restoration project, a collaboration between the K'ómoks First Nation, Project Watershed, and community partners, is returning the industrial site to a thriving estuary ecosystem. Through song, the choir celebrates this powerful act of environmental healing and reconciliation taking place in our own backyard.
