💧Drinking water source protection is the first barrier of defence, to protect your drinking water, in a multi-barrier approach.

💧Other barriers of protection include the three Ts (Testing of water; Treatment of water; Training of water managers and staff) along with securing distribution systems; responses to adverse conditions; and monitoring.

If you own or rent property in a campground in the Municipality of Central Huron, you may be eligible to vote in the October 26, 2026 municipal election!
Did you know that trailer owners in campgrounds are tenants of the campground? Tenants may qualify as eligible electors. To be eligible, a person must be “entitled to use the land on Voting Day or for a period of six weeks or more during the calendar year in which the election is held” (Municipal Elections Act, s.1)
Canadian citizens eighteen years and older who are a resident (tenant) of a campground may qualify as a non-resident elector if they own or rent property in a Central Huron campground, but Central Huron is not the municipality of their home address. While you can be a resident elector in only one municipality, you can be a non-resident elector in any other municipality (or municipalities) where you own or rent property.

Celebrate immigrants who make our area a better place to live!
The I Am Huron awards requested nominations from the community of immigrants and newcomers to Canada making a positive impact on our region. The winners will be announced on September 10. Awards presentation followed by refreshments. Keynote address by Dr. Wayne Caldwell, Professor Emeritus of Rural Planning and Development, University of Guelph and co-author of the book Attracting and Retaining Newcomers in Rural Communities and Small Towns. This free event is taking place next Thursday, September 10, from 7-9pm at the Libro Hall in the Clinton arena.
