Thinking about running for Council? The Nomination Period for the 2026 Municipal Election is now open!

If you care about your community, how local decisions are made, and believe strong communities start with local leadership, understanding the role and responsibilities of Municipal Council is an important first step for anyone thinking about running in Central Huron.

Council decisions focus on: local services and infrastructure, municipal budgets and priorities, land use planning and community growth, and programs, facilities, and services that support residents.

We are pleased to announce the Emergency Department at the Clinton Public Hospital will resume 24/7 service effective June 1, 2026, at 8 a.m.

Fire hydrant flow testing is starting on Monday June 1, 2026 and expected to be completed by June 19, 2026.

During this time, residents may experience rust-coloured water. The water is safe to consume and residents are encouraged to let their water run until it is clear.
