Chestermere Country Fair *September 6, 2025,* The Chestermere Country Fair is the oldest ongoing annual event in Chestermere. And it has. Chestermere is a unique community.

On September 9, 1989, the first Chestermere Country Fair was held. The idea of having a fair came from Helga Dressel and Ken Fraser. They believed that this type of event would bring together the urban and rural roots of the community. The parades, dances, spaghetti eating contests, dunk tanks, 4H demonstrations (rabbit and beef), heavy horse pulls, pet shows, wine and beer competitions, slow pitc

h tournaments, Red Ribbon competition and the farmers' markets have made for even more fun, competition and camaraderie. Each year the fair and Red Ribbon competition add new and exciting agricultural events, such as the honey competition in 2013 and the zucchini car races and pillowcase challenge in 2014. These new events are drawing in more families and visitors to this one-of-a-kind event, on that has sadly been dying out in small communities all over Alberta. The Chestermere Country Fair has been and will continue to be a reminder of the agricultural roots of this lakeside urban/rural community for many more years to come.

We are still looking for a few more volunteers for our CASINO October 4 & 5! ♦️ ♣️ ♥️

Saturday:
2 Chip Runners from 6 pm-3:45 am. ( wouid make a great date night! Dinner is included free of charge 😉 )

Sunday:
1 Cashier 9 am - 6:30 pm
1 Chip Runner 6 pm - 3:45 am
1 Countroom Staff 11 pm - 3:45 am

The country fair is the longest running event in Chestermere and it is all because of our volunteers.
Help make a difference in our community, for our community.

There are shifts on Thursday evening, Friday day and evening and Saturday morning and afternoon

🌽 Co****le Tournament 11am-4pm register by emailing madhattersco****[email protected] or register the day of. Cost is $20 per person with cash prizes for winners.
