In the exhibition exhibition Sandeep Johal: To Be Something More (and More), Johal retells the story of Sohni Mahiwal, a tragic romance from Punjabi and Sindhi folklore.

In this body of work, Vancouver-based artist Sandeep Johal explores the resilience of women through painting, collage, textiles, and mural in her signature Indo-folk aesthetic. Johal’s work articulates and confronts harsh and ugly realities with their dissonant opposites: brightness, hope and beauty.

We recently announced a Channelling ArtTalk—unfortunately that event has been postponed indefinitely due to scheduling conflicts.
Curated by Pan Wendt, CHANNELLING is a collection exhibition exploring nature and the industrial age's relationship to the ways humans have co-opted that nature.
