DiverseCity Multicultural Festival

DiverseCity Multicultural Festival The DiverseCity Multicultural Street Festivals celebrate Canadian multiculturalism -- they are PEI's largest, family-friendly, free outdoor festivals.

The DiverseCity Festival was created in 2007 to celebrate diversity, Canadian Multiculturalism, to connect newcomers with established Islanders and to support settlement, inclusion, anti-racism, and retention With tremendous support from three Island communities -- Charlottetown, Montague, and Summerside, from federal and provincial funders, and private sector sponsors -- the PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada is pleased to announce that DiverseCity Multicultural Street Festivals will be held in these locations again this year.

20 years of DiverseCity just came to a close. 🌎❤️

But this isn’t a sad goodbye. It’s a moment to look back at how far we’ve come.

From one location to seven.
From small streets to bigger spaces.
From a few cultures to so many more.
From one celebration to a community that has grown together over 20 years.

And next year, a new chapter begins.

Some things may change. The places, the activities, the faces, the ideas, or even the way DiverseCity looks.

But there are things we hope never change: kindness, respect, connection, and the feeling of coming together as a community. ❤️

Thank you for being part of 20 years of DiverseCity.

Here’s to everything that came before, everything we’ve shared, and everything still to come.

See you in 2027. ✨

A special thank you to all the amazing volunteers who gave their time, energy, and support throughout the summer. From the first festival to the last, you showed up and helped make each stop what it was. ✨

Your dedication helped bring DiverseCity to life across PEI, creating spaces where people could come together, celebrate, connect, and make memories. 🌎

We’re so grateful for every person who was part of the team this year. DiverseCity wouldn’t be the same without you. ❤️

And if you’d like to be part of the team in the future, IRSA is always looking for volunteers! You can register through the link in our bio.

Thank you for being part of DiverseCity. 🎉🌎

Without you, it’s only tents and chairs. ❤️

You’re what turns an empty space into a festival, a gathering, and a place where our communities come together.

Thank you, PEI, for showing up, celebrating with us, and filling every DiverseCity stop with so much life. 🌎✨

A few days have passed, but we’re still feeling all the emotions.

When we think about a festival, we often think about music, food, and activities. But sometimes, what stays with us most is the people we meet — the smiles we share, neighbours coming together, strangers becoming friends, and people from different cultures simply enjoying the same moment. That’s what we felt in Souris.

No matter where you were born, what language you speak, or the colour of your skin — there was a place for you.

You were welcome. You belonged.

Thank you, Souris, for ending our DiverseCity season with so much warmth and heart. See you next year.
