Some of our key volunteers have decided to move on, and while we wish we could go on forever, one must be realistic with the resources that are available. For this reason, the difficult decision was made to discontinue Winterfest. Huge thanks to our Winterfest committee members and volunteers, the town and county, the local businesses and individuals for all their support financially and with their time. Many thanks also to the attendees, we hope you had fun, we sure did!
You may ask what can I do this winter now? Here are some options:
• Volunteer with the Castor Agricultural Society. Rodeo, Fair, Hall Board, and Farmers Market could all use helpers.
• Take in some local winter sports. We have championship hockey, volleyball, and basketball teams who have competed and won at the highest levels in the last year. Get to the gym or rink and get proud and loud!
• Castor Little Theatre starts practicing in the winter with performances starting in February.
• No one is stopping you from making chilli or snow sculptures, keep practicing those skills!
• Visit our amazing local businesses and take in some winter retail therapy.
We will keep this page alive to share events for the next few months to help you ease into other activities.
