A festival is not just about a stage, performances, or food.
It’s about people.

People who come together with shared values.
People who carry culture in their hearts.
People who create an atmosphere filled with energy, warmth, and unity ✨

It’s about the spirit you can feel in the air - in every smile, every applause, every moment shared together.
It’s about connection, belonging, and the feeling that you’re part of something bigger.

This is what makes a festival truly special.
This is what makes it alive. 🌿

Together with Cookiddoo, we had the joy of sharing Ukrainian culture in Perth - through taste, traditions, and meaningful conversations. Ukrainian borscht, pampushky, warm smiles, and hundreds of people discovering Ukraine a little closer.

In Smiths Falls, alongside Ukrainian singer Marta Stepanenko, Ukrainian song filled the stage - sincere, powerful, and truly heartfelt.

We were grateful to join these wonderful initiatives and use the opportunity to share our love for Ukraine with people 💛

Because moments like these are about more than participation.
They are about presence.
About voice.
About roots growing in Canadian soil 🌱

Thank you to everyone who creates spaces where Ukrainian culture can be heard, tasted, and felt.

At the festival, culture wasn’t just something you watched - it was something you could truly experience.

Traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirts, authentic patterns, natural fabrics, and symbols passed down through generations - each piece tells a story. A story of family, identity, resilience, and pride. 💙💛

When you hold a vyshyvanka in your hands, you’re not just choosing clothing.
You’re touching history.
You’re feeling craftsmanship.
You’re connecting to something deeper.

Our festival gave everyone the opportunity to come closer to Ukrainian culture - to see it, to wear it, and to take a piece of it home.

Because culture lives when we share it.

A Taste of Ukraine is a cultural event planned to become an annual tradition within the sister-city agreement between Smiths Falls and Zolochiv.

The initiative comes from Mayor Shawn Pankow, who has Ukrainian roots. Local chefs will prepare Ukrainian dishes based on recipes preserved in his family.

More than 200 guests are expected — people of all ages, including many families with children.

At the mayor’s invitation, our Ukrainian Festival team is contributing to the cultural program: Ukrainian songs, traditional instruments, an interactive dance, a presentation of the Ukrainian national costume, and a short introduction to Ukraine.

This is a beautiful example of how a small festival format plants Ukrainian roots in Canadian soil — and grows within Canada’s multicultural community. 💛💙

On February 15 (11:00 AM–2:00 PM) at Crystal Palace in Perth, ON, the community will gather for a vibrant celebration of cultures and flavors from around the world. For the second year in a row, Perth unites around the values of multiculturalism, openness, and mutual support.

This year, Ukraine is once again represented among more than 10 world cuisines. On the festival menu — traditional Ukrainian borscht and pampushky with garlic — a taste that brings generations together.

Our participation in this project became possible thanks to the support and trust built through our festival — and for us, this is more than just a culinary event. It is about presence, dignity, and how Ukrainian culture sounds and tastes in Canada.

Last year, Ukraine in Perth was represented by our most respected expert in Ukrainian cuisine in the Ottawa Valley, a постоян consultant and true guardian angel of our festival — Mama Raisa Hordiychuk (https://www.facebook.com/raisa.hordiychuk)

This year, she has passed the baton to our young star Anastasiia Stepanenko and the Cookiddoo Studio — and we are incredibly proud of this generational transition.

And on the festival stage, Ukrainian song will be performed by Marta Stepanenko. Because Ukraine is not only about taste — it is also about voice. And that voice sounds strong.

We invite you to support Ukraine at this beautiful celebration of cultures.
See you in Perth! 💛💙

The Ukrainian Festival is more than music, food, and crafts.
It’s a space where people meet, talk, discover common values, and realize - “We think alike.” 💛

Here, conversations start naturally.
Ideas are exchanged.
Collaborations are born.
Friendships grow. 🌿

It’s a place to find people who share your spirit, your culture, your passions - and sometimes even your future projects.

Because community isn’t built online alone.
It’s built face to face, heart to heart. 🇺🇦✨

People who carefully preserve traditions.
People who come together through shared values and interests 🤍
People who inspire one another with their stories, skills, and warmth ✨

These are the moments that give a festival its true meaning - when culture lives not in exhibits, but in hands, smiles, and hearts.
Here, the past meets the present, and personal stories become part of one shared, living tradition 🇺🇦

💛 Thank you to everyone who shares their talent, time, and soul. You are what truly makes the festival come alive.

Our festival is more than a celebration - it’s a space where everyone can share what they love 💛
Hobbies, handmade creations, skills, creativity, and craftsmanship all come together to tell personal stories and inspire others.

From unique handmade items to thoughtfully created pieces, the festival gives artists, makers, and small businesses a chance to be seen, connect with their audience, and grow 🤝
It’s where passions turn into conversations, friendships, and sometimes even new partnerships.

💙💛 When people share what they create with heart, culture becomes alive - and community grows stronger.

This photo says more than a thousand words.
The festival is not just about music, food, or performances - it’s about passing our culture, traditions, and values to the next generation.

Through moments like these, children learn who they are, where they come from, and why cultural memory matters. They see unity, feel pride, and grow up connected to their roots - even far from their homeland.

Festivals like this become living classrooms, where history is not read from books, but felt, shared, and carried forward 💙💛
And that is one of the most important missions of our community.

✨ Because culture lives on - when we pass it from heart to heart.

At the Ukrainian Festival, guests could discover motanky dolls - traditional Ukrainian handmade dolls filled with meaning and soul ✨

Motanky are more than beautiful crafts. They are ancient symbols of protection, harmony, and continuity 🤍
Handmade with care, without facial features, these dolls carry wishes of well-being, strength, and peace - passed down through generations 🧵

Finding a motanka at the festival meant taking home a small piece of Ukrainian culture - a reminder of roots, traditions, and the quiet power of handmade art 🌾
Each doll is unique, just like the story it carries.

This moment says more than words.
The Ukrainian Festival is not just an event — it is a place where people come together 🤝, regardless of age, background, or origin, to share values, memory, and culture.

Here, traditions are not only remembered — they are lived ✨
🎶 Songs are sung together
📖 Stories are passed on
🧵 Symbols, language, and history find their way into new hearts and new generations

The festival creates a space where Ukrainian cultural heritage is honored, protected, and shared — not only within the Ukrainian community, but with everyone who chooses to stand together, listen, and feel 💛

This unity gives culture strength.
And this togetherness is what makes the festival truly meaningful.
