The Summer Festival The Summer Festival is an anime convention event hosted in SFU's Burnaby Campus, presented by SFU Anime!

For inquiries, please email or message on Instagram The Summer Festival is an annual event held in the Convocation Mall at SFU Burnaby Campus. Hosted by SFU Anime, the festival gives anime fans a chance to check out artist booths, food vendors, games, and stage events all in the style of the “matsuri” summer festivals you may have seen in some of your favourite series. We've got more prizes to give away - And more competitions to be had!

This year's Summerfest Sketch Competition is sponsored by Arrtx Art Supplies Official! Grab your pen, pencil, contes and papers and start drawing for a chance to win Arrtx's acrylic markers and sketchbooks!

Summerfest's Artist Team will act as judges to pick out one winner to win Arrtx's 120A Anime Colors Acrylic Markers Brush Tip Paint Markers!

The winner's art will then be displayed at the info booth on the day of the Summer Festival!

Runner ups from Judge's Pick will also be asked to bring their sketches on the day of the Summer Festival for a chance at another prize...

THE FAN VOTE! On the day of Summerfest 2026, from 2pm to 4pm, attendees will be able to vote for their favourite sketch, and the winner of the Fan Vote will win Arrtx's Sketchbook A5 Artists Hardcover Drawing Paper!

Summer Festival is almost a week away???

Here’s our floor plan to help you find your favourite artist or vendor! We thank every artist, vendor, sponsor and various communities for signing up to be in the Artist Alley!

The Summer Festival is happening on August 29th from 12pm to 7pm at SFU's Burnaby campus. The Artist Alley can be found in SFU's Convocation Mall.
