✨ We are delighted to welcome returning artist Stephanie Ford Forrester back to the Buckhorn Festival of the Arts this August inside the Main Community Centre!

Stephanie’s latest piece, 'Wind in the Rushes,' showcases her incredibly detailed and unique artistic process. Using enlarged paper copies of her own marsh and wetland photographs, she carefully hand cuts each piece with an Xacto knife — almost like drawing with the blade itself. These delicate, lace-like layers are then applied over acrylic painting to create remarkable depth, movement, and light throughout the work.

As Stephanie explains, the process allows viewers to experience “the wonderful little spaces between,” where light filters beautifully through the rushes. Her work is truly something that needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate the craftsmanship and atmosphere she creates.

We can’t wait to see Stephanie and her inspiring artwork once again this August! 🎨🍃
