What a day at the St. Lawrence Writers Festival! 📚✨

From incredible author panels to unforgettable moments, the energy in Brockville Ontario has been unmatched.

As night falls, some of us spent the evening taking in the views on the Love Boat Cruise on the river 🛥️🌅—while others stayed in, officially starting a hot date with a brand-new, tower-high pile of signed books! 📖☕

Whether you sailed the St. Lawrence or are already three chapters deep into your festival haul, thank you to everyone who made these three days so special.

Please don't forget that tomorrow we have The Cat’s Meow Brunch at 11am ( Hub downstairs), and book launch by Carley at 1pm.

✨ What a a remarkable opening night at the St. Lawrence Writers Festival! ✨
Opening of 2 edition of St. Lawrence Writers Festival, Thursday Sep 10 was an absolute triumph—thought-provoking, inspiring, and full of non-stop laughter! 📚✨

🎙️ The Mayor’s Welcome: Mayor Matt Wren officially kicked off the 2nd annual festival, setting a warm, celebratory tone for our local community and visiting book lovers.

📖 Chapter 2 — Moon of the Post-Apocalypse: Rice took the stage in conversation with Rod Carley for a powerful discussion on resilience, community, and his acclaimed post-apocalyptic novels Moon of the Crusted Snow and Moon of the Turning Leaves. His insights as an Anishinaabe writer and former journalist left everyone deeply moved and inspired.

🎭 Chapter 3 — Terry and Wayne’s Excellent Adventure: Humorists and literary heavyweights Fallis and Johnston brought down the house! Their lively conversation was a perfect blend of masterclass storytelling and laugh-out-loud moments that had the entire room in stitches.

If opening night was any indication, this weekend is going to be unforgettable. The festival runs through Sunday, Sept. 13! 🎟️
