Wow! The dust has finally settled on our Annual 4-day Easter EGGstravaganza 🐣 in Regina Saskatchewan.
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to our Judges: Alannah Schurman and Shae Grismer, for taking on the task of judging this event for our club. I am sure everyone who attended, especially all the volunteers, can attest to the fact that a 4-day barn hunt event can be exhausting and hard on the body. These ladies presented us with fun, challenging courses, with some difficult scent puzzles for the dogs to figure out. They stood on their feet all day, helped course build and ensured that the event ran quickly and efficiently. Somehow just saying "Thank you" does not seem adequate for everything they do, so that our dogs can enjoy and compete in a sport they love. ❤️❤️❤️
As always, Thank-you to all the competitors who continue to support our events, to all the volunteers who worked hard to ensure that we can co-host these events, to May Fischer for her support and exceptional organizational skills in co-ordinating the volunteers, to Joanne for the daily tasty hot lunches and for organizing the volunteer eggs and prizes, to Jeannette for her donation of the NQ Alex and Ani bracelets, to Dawn Barker for her donation of the Judge's Choice awards and to Amanda Pichette for making our Potty awards. I cannot remember Jack-Jack ever 💩 in the ring, but he did this weekend, so we were one of the first recipients of the potty awards. I guess there is a first time for everything. 🤣🤣🤣 Who knew, you could actually be "happy" that your dog potties in the ring. 🤣🤣🤣 We know some handlers can be devastated if their dog potties in the ring, so we wanted to bring some lightheartedness to the situation. After all, they are dogs!
Congratulations 🎊 to everyone for their success this weekend, whether or not they resulted in a Qualifying score and a new title. Personally, we were so happy that Joanne was successful in getting Jack-Jack to tunnel ONCE, in his 16 runs this weekend, 🙃 that it did not matter that the clock ran out before he exited the tunnel and it did not count. Lol iykyk
It brings us great joy to see everyone having fun with their dogs, and the dog gets to "be a dog". It is because of all or you, that we work so hard to co-host these events with 4 Limb Gym .
There is always a risk of forgetting to thank someone who worked very hard, when you name individual names, and as a result I apologize, in advance, if I have left anyone out. Please know it was not intentional, but rather an old tired brain, functioning on too little sleep.
Our next event is a trial in Regina on June 26-28, 2026. We open for entries at 7 PM on Tuesday May 26. Mark your calendars, set an alarm, you know what to do! We do hope you can join us. Joanne will be away overseas, supporting her son's ball hockey adventure on Team Canda, so if anyone has any culinary talents and are willing to provide lunches on Saturday and Sunday, June 27-28, 2026, please reach out. 😁
Best wishes to all, till we meet again.
