Peak season can get intense fast, and sometimes it’s not the big events that wear you down. It’s the meetings, inbox, small admin tasks, and last-minute requests piling up at the same time.

Three things I’d look at:

Audit your calendar and protect your time.
Outsource the small tasks that don’t need you.
Use change orders instead of absorbing extra work for free.

Burnout prevention is not just about taking a day off. It’s also about building better boundaries and systems around the work.

Save this for the next week that starts feeling like too much.

Your quarterly review shouldn’t just be about how busy you were.

Look at the numbers, the client experience, the event-day bottlenecks, your boundaries, and the systems that are still taking too much of your time.

These five questions can help you see what’s actually working and what needs attention before the next quarter starts.

Save this for your next CEO review day.

Why are we all pretending that “networking” isn’t just an awkward hostage situation with a side of lukewarm tap water?
If I have to endure one more 30-minute hard sales pitch disguised as a “casual virtual coffee chat,” I am deleting my entire digital existence. From the LinkedIn parasites who slide into your DMs to pitch a pyramid scheme 0.2 seconds after you accept their invite, to the aggressive business cards shoved into your hand while you’re literally trying to chew a mini quiche—the collective lack of boundaries is a professional crisis.I’m breaking down the 5 cringe-inducing, soul-crushing networking habits that need to be standard-issue banned by federal law.Alright, look. We’ve all suffered. What is your absolute biggest professional networking ick? The one that makes you want to fake a medical emergency to leave the room? Drop it in the comments below! 👇

We are incredibly honoured to share that WedBiz Society has been nominated for the Canada Small Business 100 by Mastercard Canada 🇨🇦🍁

This moment means so much to us because it represents far more than recognition.

It represents the vision that started WedBiz Society: creating a space where wedding professionals could feel supported, connected, and empowered to grow their businesses without having to leave the country. Built by Canadians for Canadians.

Building something from the ground up has not been easy. There have been moments of hearing banks say our “industry doesn’t qualify for credit”, “we’re not making enough money to be considered an industry they would support”. So many closed doors, difficult decisions as we grow, unexpected challenges, and times when we questioned whether we were on the right path because Canadian Wedding professionals simply don’t support each other the way our neighbours 🇺🇸do.

But we continued to show up because we knew this community mattered.

We saw so many talented wedding professionals navigating business alone—trying to find the right clients, build sustainable systems, increase their visibility, and balance the creative side of their work with the demands of running a business.

That is why WedBiz Society exists.

To create connection.
To share knowledge.
To encourage collaboration.
To provide visibility and support.
To remind wedding professionals that they do not have to build alone. We are an eco system of support resources for our Canadian Wedding Professionals.

To every member, partner, speaker, supplier, collaborator, friend, and supporter who has been part of this journey: thank you.

Thank you for believing in the vision.
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for sharing your time, energy, ideas, and support.
Thank you for helping us reach our third year in 2026!

This nomination belongs to our entire community.

We are so excited for the next chapter and for everything we will continue creating together.

What has WedBiz Society meant to you?

We would love to hear your favourite connection, memory, or moment from being part of this community.
