We'd like to give a huge shout out to one of our biggest supporters! The team at Defender LTL supported us before, during and after the Games with various freight services and hauling the athlete's equipment to competition venues. They were the most friendliest and professional team to deal with. They went above and beyond for us and we could not have been as successful without them.

They were amazing to work with and are some of the most community-minded people we met!

Because of your support, we’ve received so many amazing items that will continue to uplift, engage, and support young people in our community in meaningful ways. While we've busy wrapping up and out visiting some of our sponsors with some much deserved thanks (stay tuned for more pics!), we came back here because we could not pass by National Volunteer Week without mentioning all the VERY BEST VOLUNTEERS we have right here at home, who came out to make the Lakeland Region 2026 Alberta Winter Games AMAZING!!

Over 1100 Lakeland volunteers showed up to help plan, set up, welcome athlete's, assisted in competition, worked security, sold tickets/merchandise, manned the athlete's villages, and supported in so many other critical roles!

Many volunteers were employees and friends from our very own municipalities, who showed up at registration and stayed all weekend to help out and take in all in. City of Cold Lake Municipal District of Bonnyville Town of Bonnyville Village of Glendon

Many local dedicated medical professionals manned our polyclinics/sport venues and made all first aid operations seamless.

Good Morning Lakeland!

In the quiet this morning, after the athletes have gone and the signs are being taken down, we are reflective of how wonderful this weekend truly was.

The competition was fierce, the smiles were big and the memories made are unforgettable.

Thank you athletes, coaches and families for being our guests. It was a privilege to host you.

To our sponsors, you have made this weekend possible. Stay tuned as we continue to pour out our thanks and recognition over this next while.

Finally - a huge shout out to our AMAZING volunteers who came out and spent countless hours serving food, running time clocks, watching Villages and everything in between. We could not have done this without you. The warmth you have shown the athletes was truly inspiring and the hard work you put in got us to the finish line. There are no words that can fully express our gratitude.

We have many more thanks to give so keep in touch, but right now we still have work to do behind the scenes after the competition is done.

Brinson had a blast covering each sport held at the 2026 Lakeland Region Alberta Winter Games! It was incredible to interact with all of the athletes and learn more about what inspires them to compete in their sport.
