It is looking like a small entry today, but the area looks great and we have some of Saskatchewan's future trials stars eager to get on their bikes today.

If you are coming to spectate, it is all free and feel free to come see the sections up close. The flagging system is explained at the sign up table. The riders will do their first loops as a group and will be walking them before they ride. No practice allowed in Trials riding. Trials is unique because spectators can get up close to the action, unlike speed based sports.

Also please carry out anything you bring in. We will have a garbage bag at the sign up table as well.

Yesterday we mentioned about the Youth Trials, on Saturday and Sunday and had some questions about kids of other ages that may like to participate.

Youth class is a mini version of trials. Ages (6-10), small wheel motorcycles, gas, or electric. CMA membership is $30 for the calendar year and is only good for Trials.

Junior is a full CMA class, but is the introductory class to a full trials competition. Ages (11 and up). Any size motorcycle can be used, gas, or electric. Any type of off road motorcycle can be used, but the advantage would be with a trials specific bike. A full CMA license is required $80 and it is good for any discipline of off road competition in 2018. The license is required to protect the competitors, spectators, the host club and the landowners.

As many of you will remember each section is broken down into several lines of increasing difficulty. The class progression goes as follows.

Junior, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert. The Championship class that was at the Nationals, is only a national class and is composed of Experts, who wish to contest for the #1 plate.

All classes are fun as it is progression of skill that gets riders from the easy line to the difficult Expert lines.

We are coming down to Bengough for August 18 & 19, 2018. This will be a smaller scale event catering to local Trials riders and possibly a few visitors from AB, who experienced the hospitality and National Championship in 2016.

We would like to extend an invite to local young dirt bike riders who may want to participate in the Youth class (6-10 years old. You will need a CMA membership (you can join at the event) $30, this will cover the rider under the events competition insurance and is good for all 2018. Event entry $10/ day. Helmet, gloves, boots, pants and long sleeve shirt.

Any small wheel dirt bike is suitable and it is great and safe way to learn control and have fun in a safe environment. There will be lots of advice on hand from the friendly trials community.
