A cowboy’s best friend, the Pick Up Man.
Travis Erickson.
Travis began his career at the Lancer Rodeo, where his path lead him to rodeos all across Western Canada and into Montana.
Travis held cards for the CCA, CPRA and PRCA and enjoyed working with the Rempel brothers, Tyler Kraft, and many other very qualified pickup men.
He was honored to be voted to pick-up at the CCA finals 8 times, and the Calgary Stampede from 2023-2026. He also went in as a replacement in 2009 and 2020. During his career, he only bucked off once in the arena, which was this year in Armstrong, BC.
Throughout Travis's career, he worked for many stock contractors - all of which he says were great to work for. He gives credit to a lot of good horses and the support of his friends and family to keep him on the road.
For Travis, it was always about the people. The committees and rodeo personnel, stock crews and of course the contestants who relied on him for every ride.
He is thankful for being able to live out a dream and conclude his career here at Beechy where he was honored with a moment of recognition for his successful career in the arena. Travis plans to trade it all in for a camper and a fishing rod.
These men are the unsung heroes of the world of rodeo, and we thank you Travis, for your years of dedication, wisdom and talent.
