๐ฆ To the women who haul.
The cold doesn't ask permission and neither does she.
She knows the tides by feel.
She knows the weight of a full trap and the sting of an empty one.
She knows what it means to work a season that doesn't wait and she shows up anyway, every single morning, in the dark, on the water.
And then there's the woman standing on the dock waiting.
The one keeping the house, the books, the kids, the worry, quiet and steady while her person is out there. That kind of strength doesn't get named enough.
To every woman who fishes our waters, who crewed a boat, who kept the operation running from shore, who learned this life from her mother or her grandmother, who is passing it down to her daughter, we see you.
This isn't a soft industry.
And you are not soft women.
You are the backbone of our coastline.
Happy International Women's Day.
