Little Church in Big Baddeck Little Church in Big Baddeck is a new concert series in the community of Big Baddeck, Nova Scotia. The newly renovated Vicar’s View Venue (formerly St.

Andrew’s United Church) will play host to Little Church Concerts. This exciting new concert series will present five concerts per season featuring JUNO, East Coast Music Award, and Canadian Folk Music Award winners. Rose Morrison’s artistic vision for this project is to inspire everyone who comes to the 100-seat venue through music, dance and language. With initial support from the local government, businesses and community for the upcoming summer 2022 series, it is expected that this intimate setting will provide an opportunity for world-class artists to connect with their audience and to support local tourism in the off-seasons.

Join us this Friday, July 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Big Baddeck for a special evening with beloved Canadian songwriter Dave Gunning and acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter and filmmaker Mark Lang.

As Dave celebrates the release of his new album, Field Notes, he’ll be joined by Mark, who will also be sharing songs from his forthcoming solo album, Wild Swan.

Join us on Friday, July 17th at 7:30pm at Vicar’s View for a special evening with beloved Canadian songwriter Dave Gunning and acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter and filmmaker Mark Lang.

Celebrating the upcoming releases of Dave’s Field Notes and Mark’s Wild Swan, this promises to be a memorable night of song, storytelling, and connection.

With over two decades on the road, Dave Gunning is one of Canada’s most respected folk artists, known for his storytelling, humour, and songs that celebrate home. His latest album, Field Notes, returns to the heart of what he does best.

Australian singer-songwriter and filmmaker Mark Lang is a renowned lyricist and storyteller. Following three critically acclaimed albums with Australian indie band Skipping Girl Vinegar, Mark has performed at some of Australia’s premier festivals, as well as throughout Europe and North America. His forthcoming solo album, Wild Swan, explores family, identity, and the search for meaning through deeply reflective songwriting.

An intimate evening of powerful songwriting, storytelling, and connection.

In the heart of Big Baddeck, we’re so looking forward to welcoming you back to Vicar's View for another summer and fall of unforgettable evenings. There is something magical that happens every time in this gorgeous space, and we can’t wait to share it with you again.
